I'm not quite sure what the poor reviews are about, but they couldn't have reviewed the same product. I have seen alot of tripods come with spotting scopes over the years and I must say that this is by far the best one. Its quite durable. I use mine in the field almost 100% of the time and have had no problems. The adjustments are fine and smooth. I am not a big fan of the way the scope connects to the tripod, but that is just because I'm used to using models that do not have a "wing nut style" deal. However, it is still a rock solid connection. I have a Bushnell Spacemaster 15-45x 60mm sitting on top of it. A fairly big scope. The tripod holds it well and it is not shaky or flimsy like so many other tripods on the market today. I also use the tripod for rock steady laser range finding on small targets at very long distances and when using my nikon 10-22 x 50 binoculars with a tripod mount. Never had any issues with the tripod doing its job. Like I said earlier, mine spends almost all of its time in the field for varmint huting or target shooting holding a vary of optics. It does the job quite well.

I bought this tripod ...

I bought this tripod since a friend of mine had one that was made 10 or more years ago. While it's an ideal size for bench use the quality is poor. The one my friend had was lightly made but this one is even lighter made. The main body is not longer a case metal but plastic as is much of the rest of the unit. The main post broke where it threads to the adjustable head and I had to rethread the column. The pivot pin below the scope mount is poorly fitted allowing quite a bit of wobble. The only thing I like about the tripod is the size.

Threads on center post ...

Threads on center post were defective so top wobbled. Repaired with super glue and now is a solid unit. It would be an excellent tripod if built with better material.

Bought the Bushnell Shooter Stand Tripod for use with my Yukon 100x spotting scope. The precise elevation adjustment of the Shooter Stand Tripod makes it easy to zero in even at 100x. It's stable and works well at a very affordable price. My only complaint is that no manual or instructions of any kind came with the tripod but it wasn't difficult to figure out how everything works. I'd buy it again...

The Bushnell Shooters Stand Tripod with micro adjustment was the tripod I was looking for! When I bought my Bausch & Lomb Elite spotting scope I was searching for a solid stand to support it. The tripod I purchased with the scope was clearly not up to the task and since then I have been trying to find a replacement tripod. I finally found the Bushnell and I am very happy with it. The first thing that really impressed me was the micro adjustment capabilities of the unit. I am not sure about you, but I have a heck of a time making elevation adjustments with a tripod. You first ball-park the scope to the correct height and then fine-tune it with the adjustment knob that allows you to slowly move it up and down. It is also an extremely stable tripod. If you are looking for a table-top tripod or one to use while shooting prone then take a serious look at this one. I am very happy with mine and consider it a very worthwhile investment.

I also had problems with the main tube/head assembly. Mine began to wobble and would not tighten. It appeared the threads were stripped. I used epoxy to bond the two and now it's fine. If they would improve this design flaw, Bushnell would have a great product.

Would have rated this 4 or better because of fine adjustment capabilities, but scope and stand fell over the one leg broke at the fold and have been unable to fix it. Not durable.

Cheaply made. Main rod is ...

Cheaply made. Main rod is made of aluminum and base is made of die cast. If you unscrew the two and then screw it back together, the aluminum threads get trashed and will not screw back together. I used epoxy to bond the two and now it's fine. Otherwise I think it will be a decent shooting tripod.
