The MEC Steelmaster offers simplicity without sacrificing convenience and efficiency. The "Power Ring" collet resizer returns bases to factory specification, regardless of whether they're brass or steel heads, high or low base. Factory set for 3-1/2" shells.

I bought this press because there are very few options in regards to 3 1/2" reloaders. I previously used the MEC 600 Jr. and the upgrades are worth the cost. The collet resizer is perfect as I am use to on my 9000G. The next step (auto prime) is not worth any hype it may receive. This system works if you plan to load one round at a time. I prefer to multi-task so if you throw a shell in each station, you end up dropping a new primer on top of the freshly primed shell. I took the auto feed off and threw my primers in a cup and add manually as I did with the MEC 600 Jr. Small problem but want anyone out there who thinks they are getting an auto prime like the 9000 to forget the idea. I have been told that if I want to load progressively, to buy a progressive press. I called MEC and they only make progressive in 2 3/4". The shot drop is near perfect by weight and set-up is a breeze. There may be other presses out there that are capable of loading 3 1/2" but few have the quality and customer service of MEC. Despite my gripes with the auto prime system, this is an amazing press for steel reloaders.

Very solid press. I personally prefer this machine over the RCBS and find it is really the only machine that can really load no tox shot. If you are loading heavi shot you will not use the shot dumper and actually do a lot of things away from the press (Charge the hull, insert the wad, hand weigh the shot). For steel loads you can just run them through, same with lead. The crimp is easily adjusted as is changing grom 3 1/2 to 3 to 2 3/4 inch shells (if you start with the 3 1/2 machine). Loads lead GREAT.I like the machine for versitility. If you are running through several boxes every weekend busting clays you will want a progressive machine but for loading all those super hunting loads for ducks, geese and the like, this machine is a great deal, and very easy to use.
