Product Information

Mega soft point bullets are constructed to be an ideal hunting bullet. The bullet's flattened nose causes a powerful shock immediately after impact. The jacket extends all the way to the tip of the bullet, protecting the nose both in the rifle and flight, if it hits a branch or twig. The crown-headed jacket tip is thinned toward the point and deliberately folded to ensure even opening and mushrooming on impact up to 2.5 times the original diameter.

The jacket is substantially thickened at its middle section which arrests the mushrooming at precisely the right stage. The "step" farther inside the jacket holds the lead core within the jacket. This construction combines maximum weight retention (averaging 90%) and ideal penetration with superb accuracy.

I use lapua 185 grain ...

I use lapua 185 grain bullet with 22 grains of reloade. i am very impressed with the performance. The first animal i harvested was a bull elk at 40 yards. Considering the short distance of the shot and the speed of the bullet, it broke both front shoulders completely and my entry and exit hole were text book and perfect, considering the fact that it is a lead core bullet. The second animal harvested was a buck at 375 yards. The first shot, behind the shoulder, killed the animal on the spot, but the second shot a little far back hitting the deer in the top of the hip completely destroying the top ball joint of the hip and exiting the far side perfectly. Very accurate and perfectly constructed bullet. Five stars.

This bullet will destroy ...

This bullet will destroy whatever it hits coming out of a .300 Win Mag. I use it for deer, elk, moose, bear (both black and grizzly), and boar. I've hit almost 35 animals with this bullet and all have been complete pass throughs and one shot kills. In fact, the only animal that went about 10 yards before it died as a Grizzly I hit in Alaska on the shoulder. The bullet still busted through both massive shoulders leaving a 4" exit wound on the other side. Although a bit much for deer, they still expand reliably and I've hit deer as close at 15 yards and out to 476 so I know. I think they are especially good if you use a magnum caliber and worry about a bullet coming apart and not penetrating deep enough on a close shot such is the case with Nolser Ballistic Tips. I managed to recover the bullet from the deer I shot at 15 yards because it ended up getting lodged in a tree directly on the other side and the bullet looked like if it had expanded to 3 times it's diameter and it wasn't even getting close to shedding it's jacket. The recovered bullet weighed 160 grains so it did loose some weight but that is still excellent in my book.
