Hornady has taken their Flex Tip Expanding bullet they use in their LEVERevolution and made it available in a projectile only. The patented Flex Tip bullet features an interlocking design that keeps the core of the bullet and the jacket together creating a deeper penetrating, more humane kill. Not only that, they offer controlled expansion, enhanced accuracy and the delivery of flatter trajectories.

These bullets are safe to use in all tubular magazines, as well as any other firearm. This is not loaded ammunition.

I just received these ...

I just received these fantastic bullets on 1-23-09 from MidwayUSA and got to work loading them right away. I have used the factory loaded version for the past 2 deer seasons with great results and have been awaiting the bullet component arrival for some time now, it's here now!. I loaded 10 rounds with Hodgdon H4895 for my first test. Magic happened on the shooting bench at the range. First load touchdown! Shot a 5 shot 3/4" group at 100yrds from a marlin 336-c 30-30. The bullets were very consistent in weight and diameter. They loaded very easily and have a cannelure to set depth. I used Winchester once fired brass, full length resized. Winchester WLR standard large rifle primers, and crimped with a Lee factory crimp die(an absolute must have die) All in all a great very accurate bullet. From the bullets recovered last season in whitetail deer all went down in their tracks or in less than 30 yards.(only 2 bullets recovered from 5 deer) they have a devastating wound channel and mushroom perfectly. Cant wait to try out my reloads with this bullet this coming season. Thanks Hornady and MidwayUSA for Great products.

Having shot 100 plus round of this stuff through a .32 Win Special 1954 Model 94. I wanted to try it in my 30-30. Reloading was a snap: however loading the tube magazine on my 1967 model 94 first two rounds went in like a hot knife through butter, third round a tad more difficult to get in 4 & 5th rounds were as stubborn as a Missouri mule to go in the tube and didn't get the 6th round in with out cussing'. Once loaded the first round Jumped out of the tube and stuck in the receiver pointy end up, cleared that, next 5 rounds popped right in the chamber smooth. First round down range at 100 Yds. was 1/4 inch just inside the 8 ring off to the right and High at 1-2 O'clocknext 5 rounds were spread in a 1 1/2 inch circle between 1-3 o'clock 1 1/2-1 3/4 inches from the red x ring of a 12" Birchwood Casey target. All were loaded with Hodgdon LEVERevoloution powder to 2.530" just shy of Hornady's recommended O A L. of 2.535. After firing one tube I popped the magazine cap to see if the tube was full of crud . It wasn't I sprayed couple of shots of one shot cleaner lube in it and still had difficulty loading to the 6 round capacity. First round still nearly jumps out of the receiver pointy end up. Accuracy wise second string was exactly the same as the first. More accurate than the Hornady 170 grainers, but I have never had loading feeding problems with the 170 grain bullet. I would probably buy it again but not too soon though as I still have 400 rounds of it to shoot.

This bullet improves the bullistics of the 30/30. I will use this bullet for my light hunting needs. I reccomend this bullet to flatten out the trajectory.

I have a RUGER M77 in 7.62 X 39mm M43 Soviet with a .308 bore. I load these in Lapua brass with VVN130. They are unbelievable, so accurate I can shoot quarter sized 3 shoot groups at 200 meters from a rest with a Leica Scope all day long. The bullets terminal performance is amazing, I have taken 3 good sized, heavy deer none with fantastic racks between 95 and 170 yards. The bullet expands violently back to the cannelure then stops and punches through, three shots, three kills. Brings real .30-30 performance and better accuracy to the little ctg. hey would be cheap at twice the price!

I'm getting sub- .750 MOA ...

I'm getting sub- .750 MOA with these over a max charge of the LeverEvolution powder out of a Marlin 336 with iron sights (Williams FP and Skinner Sights front sight); .750 groups at 100 yds. are easy with this combo. I've no doubt that it would likely shrink to half-inch groups were my eyes better or if I were using glass instead of iron.

My Wife and I both used this slug in Missouri this hunting season.(2011) Her shot was about 75 yards in thick brush. Deer hit in the left shoulder and exited the neck. The deer ran about 50 yards and crashed. My shot was about 40 yards shot behind the right should, and exited the left rib cage. The deer ran about 20 yards and crashed. the entrance wound was about the size of a dime and exit wound was the size of as half dollar. There was some major meat damage on the shoulder shot. I recommend not to hit the shoulder hit them behind the shoulder, because of the meat damage. This bullet is one of the best slugs I have used in my two Marlin 30-30s.

My son and I bought some FTX LeverEvolution and reloaded some and tried some out in the backyard. We were hoping for a much better grouping then our old flat tip bullets. Glad to say our groupings improved greatly. Less than a quarter inch grouping some went through the same hole we think.

This bullet, a 1-4x scope, and your 30-30 are now a 200+yd rifle. Pay attention to your brass trim length, as it's different with these bullets vs. the standard 30-30 bullets of the past. All information available from Hornady's website. My 30-30 is no longer a safe queen, it's a legit deer rifle.

Made a huge difference with my Marlin 336. These rounds go exactly where you point them. A great improvement over factory ball. You can not go wrong loading these for your lever rifle.

With Winchester Brass, Federal Gold Medal Match Magnum Primer and the New LeveRevolution powder from Hornady I am getting extremely good accuracy (under an inch @ 100yrds - Sub-MOA) Thats good for a 30-30win rifle! I am blowing away the 150gr. + 170gr. Sierra Pro-Hunter bullets in the accuracy and velocity (+200 fps) department by far.You cant beat the 160gr. Flex Tip bullet and the LeveRevolution powder. My favorite 30-30 combo! My old favorite 30-30 load was the 150gr. Sierra Pro-Hunter and IMR-3031 but this combo has it beat by far!Try it!
