The traditional, flat base design of the Pro-Hunter has been skillfully blended with Sierra's world-famous accuracy. The custom-tapered Pro-Hunter jacket design helps assure maximum expansion, optimum weight retention and deep penetration for game-stopping, 1-shot performance. The 25 Caliber 100 Grain Pro-Hunter performs best on medium sized game at distances under 300 yards. It may also produce slightly better penetration than the 100 Grain GameKing of the same caliber. This is not loaded ammunition.

I loaded this bullet to 2,841 fps with Varget powder in a .257 Roberts, Ruger "Hawkeye" rifle for my grandson's first deer hunt in November 2010 which was in the Missouri. He took a large doe with one chest shot at 30 yards on the first day. It ran about 30 yards and fell over dead. The lungs were pulped. On the second day he shot a 9-point buck at 152 yards with a neck shot. Entry hole was about .30 caliber and the exit hole was the size of a nickel. The bedded buck twitched and was dead. Both were one-shot kills. A person couldn't ask for better performance on whitetails than this bullet provided. Accuracy is exceptional with 100 yard benchrest groups of 1/2" and minimal recoil for a young hunter.

By far the most accurate bullet in my 257 Roberts. Sub MOA groups. Beat out Partitions, Ballistic Tips and TSX's of various weights. Chrono's out 2975 fps using H4350 with 22" barrel.

I get half an inch groups ...

I get half an inch groups in my Rem 700 adl with imr 4831 in my 25-06. Muzzle velocity is 3252-3267 depending on powder lot and seating depth.

A follow up post on this bullet from last year. I have added a 250 lbs wild boar hog and another whitetail to the list with this bullet. The whitetail was a one shot kill that dropped in his tracks at short range 35 yards. The bullet was caliber diameter going in with a quarter size exit wound. No meat was damaged nice and neat. Not much of a test you might say but then there was the hog. The shot was about 75 yards the boar was caked in about an inch of dried mud and in the dark I missed my mark instead of the neck I hit the boar on the right front shoulder. The bullet penetrated the mud, hide, shield, bone and organs before exiting out the other side. The boar was dead on the spot. I would have never guessed this little bullet would have penetrated that much. The entrance wound was bullet diameter and again the exit was quarter size. I've tried all the 100 grain 25 caliber bullets Nosler, Hornady, Barnes and their all good bullets but the Sierra is cheaper, more accurate in my rifle, and performs better. My 250 Savage is my go to gun and this has become my go to bullet.

I used this bullet in my .257 Roberts, extremely accurate with IMR 4350. First shot on a deer was 200 yards angling double lung shot, recovered bullet under far side skin still weighted 94 grains with perfect mushroom.

So far I've used this bullet on three pronghorns and a whitetail. I'm shooting it from a custom .250 Savage bolt action. All animals were one shot kills with the exception of one pronghorn due to poor shot placement. Shots have ranged from 46 yards to 235 yards. I havent been able to recover any bullets but the wounds indicated excellent performance. From the bench this bullet shoots 1/2 to 3/4 inch groups with boring regularity. Muzzle velocity for my load is 3000 fps. Great bullet!!
