The bullet that started the company, Nosler Partition Bullets feature a fully tapered jacket that ruptures instantly at the thin jacket mouth, yet the gradual thickening along the bullet's axis controls expansion and curls the jacket uniformly outward at high or low velocities.

Nosler's integral Partition supports the expanded mushroom and retains the rear lead alloy core. The enclosed rear core retains more than half the original bullet weight for deep penetration. The special crimp locks in the rear core section, adding strength to resist deformation under the pressure of heavy magnums. This is not loaded ammunition.

Nosler has been known to make serious accurate hunting bullets that perform very well. As of lately their quality control of the bullets has fallen off badly. Find groups out of rifles unacceptable for the Quality & price paid for their bullets... Run 3 boxes of 50, 85gr. 6mm bullets on ICC Machine because of accuracy problems down range. Well out of 150 bullets there were ONLY 30 suitable for any hunting at all that would hit the intended target... The rest could be classified as mostly scrap copper. Don't mind paying a premium price for Quality Bullets, but these are not worth what they cost now. These bullets will be going back to Nosler shortly I guarantee you on that. Matter of Fact I see this in other caliber Partition Bullets as well. Big Price & Low Quality Bullets Don't Fly Here...

Don't let anyone tell you ...

Don't let anyone tell you that a .243 is too small for deer size game. I took a nice 11 pt whitetail this morning that field dressed 127 lbs. Shot just behind front shoulder destroying the lungs and completely blew away front half of heart. Deer took 3-4 wobbly steps and fell bone yard dead. These 85 gr pills are extremely accurate also. Shooting 1/2 in groups at 100 yds most times riveting a hole. RL-17 at 2995 fps out of my Ruger Compact does the job for me.

Loaded light with IMR4350 for my grandson, this bullet shot through the chest of a 67 pound pig. The pig dropped in his tracks. Could not be happier. Both animals he has shot have dropped on the spot. All bullets have been pass through with two ribs destroyed on the far side.

Loaded these mildly for my grandson's first deer hunt. Almost no recoil and grouped under .5 at 100 yards in his "little" single shot. His first deer, a six point ran 15 yards before crashing into some brush. Couldn't ask a bullet to do more!

To my mind, this is the best all-around bullet for use in the .243 Winchester cartridge, or the 6mm Remington, for that matter. The only real deficiency is its cost when compared to some of the more plain vanilla bullets. While a general purpose, do all bullet is not a must, I'd pick this one over any other, should I find myself boxed in to choose. The 85gr. Nosler Partition's frontal core expands highly readily in the test I have run. Regarding penetration, the 85gr. Partition typically drives deeper than the "plain vanilla" 100 grainers (in wet newsprint test). Shoots flatter, too. The bullet will open up on coyotes at long range. So far, the bullet has proven tough enough for big hogs on the OK/TX Red River border country. A great powder for use with this bullet, or any other of 80grs. and up in the .243 Win., is Accurate Arms' new "MagPro". AA's handloading data shows a maximum charge of MagPro at just over 3500fps (24" barrel) with the Speer 80 grain Hot Core. I've worked up MagPro with the Nosler 85gr. Partition for right at 3350fps from the relatively, short 20" barrel of my Ruger Ultralight M77. The load is stiff, no doubt about it. However, I observe no signs of excessive pressure in the warmest temps. Accuracy is great from my light Ruger, around 1.25 MOA out at 200 yards. If you haven't tried AA MagPro in your .243 yet, I'd give it some thought. The Nosler 85gr. Partition and MagPro makes for one heck of an all-purpose .243 handload!

Single-shot hunters need ...

Single-shot hunters need reliable high performance on the first shot. Nosler's 85gr partition was all of that in my 6mm Rem TC/Encore. This bullet weight and length was easily stabilized in a 10.5 twist 26 inch barrel at 3450 fps. 200yd 5-shot groups were consistantly less than 1.25 inches. A 275 yard shot on a Wyoming Mule deer with this round resulted in exceptional performance. Bullet expansion and integrity were flawless, by evidence of the exit wound and quick kill of the animal.
