My first 1911 was a S&W that came with the Hogue thin checkered double-diamond style rubber grips. My second 1911 was a SA1911 Mil-spec. I prefer thin grips, and I like the traction provided by rubber grips, so I started out looking for a second set of the diamond Hogue to put on this gun. Midway doesn't carry them though, so I figured I might as well give these a try. Now I'm debating getting another set of these to go on my S&W. These grips are overall moderately thin which I like. The palm swell is very well sized; it doesn't make the grip feel fat, but it also fills the slight void in your palm on normally contoured grips. The cobblestone stippling provides a good grip although I'm not sure it looks as good as checkered diamonds. For the price, these grips are definitely worth a try. They are much more comfortable and combat fatigue much more than typical wood grips.

I have very mixed ...

I have very mixed feelings on these grips. First, like all of Hogue palmswell and fingergrooved rubber products, these just don't fit my hands very well. Second, the palmswell makes these grips substantially thicker than standard grip panels. On the other hand, the quality of these grips is excellent. Free of flashing and other defects. Fit perfectly. Also, I noticed that the grips have a cleverly concealed cutout for an amidextrous saftety. The left panel has a thin flap of rubber along it's trailing edge that covers the relief cut when a standard safety is installed. I really wish these fit my hands, because they are very nice grips.

I love these grips. I put a pair of these on my Dan Wesson Bobtail Classic 10 MM, after I shaved off the corners . I have a pair of these on backorder for my Colt gold cup . You can't beat Hogue for comfort at a reasonable price !!!

I had a problem with my new Doug Koenig S&W 1911 in .38super with the web of my hand not hitting the grip safety every time in competition. Since I installed these Hogue grips, that problem went away. They seem to move my hand apart just enough that the web of my hand hits the grip safety everytime. This is what I needed as you can't tie down the grip safety in competition shooting. Well worth the small amount they cost. Thanks Midway and Hogue.

Ordered these to replace the stock grips on my RIA Tactical. They look great on the pistol, dresses it up nicely. However the best thing is the grips allow you to get a good solid hold. The palm swell feature does a good job of filling the void between your hand and the grip.

I put these on a Charles Daly 1911. The fit was perfect. The palm swells are not protruding and do not get in the way of a good grip. It improved my aim drastically. Non-slip grip. Great product. Excellent shipping speed from Midway.

I put these awesome grips on my Taurus PT1911. Unlike other Taurus owners, the grips went on & functioned with no modification to the ambi safety. They do apply some pressure to the safety. That can be easily remedied without defacing the panels with a razor blade & 1 of the wife's emery boards. Trim & clean the underside for function better factory grips.

My favorite 1911 grips of all time. I had heard Hogue discontinued these in the 90s, and I'm glad to have found them for sale again. They're ugly as a mud fence but they fit my Springfields perfectly and feel really good in the hand.

I installed a set of these grips on my Taurus PT1911 and they did make the Ambi safety harder to push up, but all I did was take a real fine file and filed the rubber down just enough to free up the safety, other than that they are nice set of grips for the price you cant go wrong.

Really nice, ergonomic, comfortable grip panels. These are the best simple panel 1911 grips I've tried. The palm swell is fairly small but is positive and definitely not obtrusive. There is a small cutout on the right panel for an ambi safety, but it may not be enough room for some ambi safeties like Taurus.

These are such an improvement in the "feel" of the 1911 grip in my hand. I do believe I shoot better with these. The holes in the target don't lie. I don't have meaty hands, so these grips "bring the gun to me" so to speak.
