Excellent value, I used ...

Excellent value, I used this in a Taurus PT1911 to replace the roughly manufactured sear that came in the factory pistol. It dropped right in with a factory plus disconnector and value line speed hammer. I got a three and a half pound trigger pull using the factory Taurus springs and no prep work on the Wilson internals I installed. This even fit my PT1911 and its factory series 80 style firing pin safety without any filing, grinding or fitting.

I have purchased Wilson ...

I have purchased Wilson factory plus sears before and was pleased with their fit and finish. Midway was sold out of them, so I purchased the value line sear and was seriously dissapointed. The surface was unfinished and had a large mold ridge down the center. I don't know if this was a mistake or how they are sold now, but I will be going back to a factory plus model.

Great sear for the money. One thing I would like to point out is this is not meant to be a drop in sear like the WC factory plus sear which is made to ordnance spec. This sear should be purchased if you plan on cutting the primary and secondary angle on the sear nose yourself. The nose is longer than ordnance spec to allow removal of material when cutting the desired angles. It will still work in most guns as is, but some will fail to cock by the slide until the nose is shortened. The legs are longer to allow fitting to the disconnect. YOU MUST perform the proper tests to check disconnect function. The gun may be able to fire out of battery if the sear legs are not fitted to allow the disconnect to clear the legs when out of battery.

Installed this in my Norinco and it's like I have a new gun.Trigger release is very crisp and clean with no creep before hammer release.Just the smallest amount of polishing was all that was required.

Bought this along with the value line hammer. I guess they were good for a "value". However, I expected the sear engagement surfaces to come pre-stoned/polished. My factory Remington R1 sear was smoother. I suppose this is a good replacement for a mil-spec part, but I expected more from Wilson.

Installed in my PT1911 with Wilson Value line hammer. The hammer had a nice square step, but the sear had bumps on the contact edge, so I had to stone it to a true, smooth surface. I also had to take off some material from my safety... being very careful I managed to get just enough material removed for it to work properly again. Some fitting is to be expected with most any 1911 part, but I was surprised after reading all the reviews of a perfect sear with no mods needed, then mine showed up not so perfect..??

Dropped right into my SA 1911 GI. Installed with Wilson Combat Value Line Speed Hammer and Wilson Combat drop in beavertail grip safety. Crisp 4lb trigger pull with absolutely no prep work.

This sear for the price is awesome. I dropped this in along with value line hammer and achieved a 4.5 pound trigger pull with no stoning at all. I did however have to do some fitting to the thumb safety but thats expected. It was well worth the no creep, extra crisp, breaks like a glass rod, trigger!

Only gave it four stars because of the fitting it needed on my project gun. Hopefully it will hold up but still a nice part. Good value but will see how it holds up after a few hundred test rounds!

Good product. Coupled with the Value Line hammer in my Taurus PT1911 it produced a crisp 5.2 lb trigger. I only had to modify the thumb safety to clear the sear.
