I have this on my current ...

I have this on my current AR. A good, solid, durable, cheap handguard through and through. Easy to install and take off. However, it seems as if the screws do not stay tight for very long, no matter how tight you get them. Also, I have had some issues with attachments not complying with the handguard (or possibly vice versa). Looking to upgrade to a Midwest Industries GEN 2 handguard now.

I would suggest a hand guard tool, align with gas tube and easy installation, fit and finish excellent.

Kudos to the reviewers ...

Kudos to the reviewers that were able to have a "drop in" installation with this handrail. As for me, it took several trial and error attempts to fit it after grinding with a Dremel tool and sanding drum. There are internal ribs that run the length of each piece of the handguard that interfered with the teeth of the barrel nut and would not allow the pieces to seat and fit together properly. I had to grind about a quarter inch off these rails flush with the interior surface to make it seat properly so the D ring would engage like it should. There are four of these rails per piece. I would guess that these rails are designed to engage the grooves of the barrel nut teeth but they do not seat properly and/or cause the top picatinny rail to not line up with the front sight ramp. Once you get the pieces modified, it seats properly and the screws can install without the danger of cross threading. I have a pre-ban EA "shorty" so perhaps earlier barrel nuts were different, not sure about that. Once installed, properly, it is a great handguard for the money, just be sure that the D ring seats properly and both halves are seated flush with each other before you run the screws in as it is aluminum and the threads can be destroyed easily. I will repeat what others have said about any handguard installation in that if you don't already own the D ring compression tool, do yourself a favor and get one. I got one this time as I had a heck of a time trying to make this thing fit before the mods and the tool makes it so much easier. It is worth every penny and is a must for installing this handguard.

Great Product! Found ...

Great Product! Found these handguards to be just as good if not better than some of the more expensive brands. Installed on my 16" AR-15. Installation took about 5 minutes very tight after install no movement at all even after firing 100 rounds through the gun. For the price of these handguards you won't find a better deal. Will order more! Would definitely recommend!
