Comments about Barnett Quad 400/Wildcat C5/Panzer V Crank Crossbow Cocking Device:

I decided to buy the cocking device as I injured my shoulder and was concerned I couldn't cock the crossbow. Also, I read a review of the crossbow that said that accuracy and consistency were improved with the device. I have found the product does work as it is supposed to. You can turn the crank with one hand and it pulls the cables evenly and consistently. One "challenge" is the small release lever (for the cocking gear). You have to release the engaged cocking gear after the cable has locked in the trigger mechanism. That is so you can get the slack you need to unhook the cable hooks. This little lever is hard to move into the release slot. Obviously there is pressure on the cable, but even wiggling the crank handle while trying to move the release lever is difficult. I may try and find something to help move the release lever as my finger got very sore after shooting 5 times. The cranking process is slow and cumbersome, but manually cocking the bow is not an option after 6-7 times. For Hunting, the time and effort required to use the crank will be worth the effort to ensure the most accurate flight of the bolt. If there is a miss or bad shot, I want to be the only thing to blame.
