This heavy 38-55 ammunition is for use in any firearm chambered in 38-55 or 375 Winchester that is in normal working condition and designed to be used with smokeless powder. This ammunition is new production, non-corrosive, in boxer primed, reloadable brass cases.

I have no doubt that this ...

I have no doubt that this is top-quality ammo, but its .377 jacketed configuration simply will not stabilize in my H&R Target Classic .38-55. I fired three rounds, each of which keyholed and struck the paper sideways when I tried to sight it in. Based on my experience with jacketed Winchester (.375) and lead-bulleted loads from Black Hills (.377) and Ten-X (.379), it seems my rifle is fully successful with lead bullets of .377 or larger, but terribly erratic with jacketed bullets in the .375-.377 range. I do not blame Buffalo Bore for a dimensioning mismatch whose origins lie in more than a century of variation from .375 - .383 in this wonderful old cartridge. Rather, I hope that Buffalo Bore can see its way clear to provide a .379 or .380 bullet in this high-performance load! Accordingly, I'll give this 4 stars as a vote of confidence in Buffalo Bore's quality, while holding back a 5-star rating in hopes they will provide a load dimensioned for the widely-available H&R rifles.

I just fired a box of 20 ...

I just fired a box of 20 of this ammo into my Winchester Model 1894 rifle chambered for this caliber (.38-55) made in 1903. At 50 yards was able to get groups 3" and smaller with my rifle w/o scope. Very impressed. Recoil was a bit stiffer than with the Winchester ammo, but not excessive. The larger .377 bullet of the Buffalo Bore ammo represented a huge improvement in accuracy;.375 bullets just tumble out of my gun-FYI. I WILL BUY more of this ammo.

This ammunition is very ...

This ammunition is very uniform in pressure and accuracy. Fired cases do not indicate excessive pressure in conjunction with the advertised velocity of 1,950 fps. Product was tested in two rifles of established accuracy and both delivered 1 1/4" - 1 1/2" benchrest groups at 100 yards with open iron sights. This is the best commercially available .38-55 WCF ammunition for hunting big game animals at ranges to 200 yards. A quality product.

This ammo is expensive, ...

This ammo is expensive, but it shoots fantastic from my Winchester 1885 rifle at ranges out to 300yards, hits hard and shoots with a much better trajectory than the factory Winchester ammo.

Excellent accuracy ...

Excellent accuracy through an original Winchester m94 made in 1903. Under 2" at 50 yards at worst. Recoil not so bad either.
