The cross bar protects the hand against injuries and can be used as a thumb rest or a bottle-opener. The knife features a slip-resistant polymer handle, includes a Kydex sheath and is perfectly balanced for throwing.

I bought this knife ...

I bought this knife because I saw how well it stood up on knife tests.com. But that is a destruction test. And then for under 30 dollars what can you expect? Not giving it 5 stars because it does not come sharp enough out of the box. Nothing like most Cold Steel knives. Fails the copy paper slice test consistently. I tried putting a good edge on it with a waterstone and as that really did not do anything with a sharpening kit. Result: Minimal improvement. 3 1/2 stars wold be about right.

I expected this knife to feel cheap, but it feels quite solid in the hand. The fact that this knife is made from carbon steel, and not stainless steel, is not a drawback. I removed the black coating, and despite doing this I have had zero problems with rust. Keep the blade coated with neatsfoot oil and you'll never encounter rust.

Best knife I own! Just got back from a 3 day camping trip in the Everglades and this was on my belt the whole time. I opened cans, dug fire pit holes, pounded in tent stakes, batoned countless logs and shaved wood to make a tinder bundle to light my fire. The knife holds an edge very well and is easy to sharpen. The sheath is just as durable and weighs almost nothing. The knife is very secure in its sheath. Yes, the finish will fade away after hard use, but this is to be expected. Other black blades I have used fade off as well. At this price you could just spray it with spray paint if it bothers you. I like it because it shows how much I use my knife. I've tried to break this knife in the field and can't. Buy one and give it a shot!

For the price, very good. I like a carbon steel blade for edge retension ability and ease when sharping. The blade is thick for lateral strength, but lacks width from spine to edge. Over-all this is another solid GLOCK product. Simple and functional.

Been carrying this knife ...

Been carrying this knife for a year now. It sharpens up pretty quick and holds an edge well. Removing it from the sheath is different than other knives as it has a clip holding it in. Best way I found to remove is to hook a finger under the hilt and thumb the clip back. Resheathing is easy as it simply snaps into place. The sheath isn't much larger than the blade and is light. The knife has good balance and is light for its size, lighter than a K-bar. Grip fits the hand very well.
