This item is a combo set ...

This item is a combo set consisting of the small pocket reamer and the available handle. I started using the tool manually and quickly decided to go powered. Like others, I chuck the reamer into a variable speed drill that has an ability to lock the speed and begin processing the brass. I measured the primer pocket depth of some casings against the reamer itself. I've found that if you just bottom the reamer into the pocket enough to remove the initial firing's residue, you will have a perfect primer pocket of correct depth with a nice bevel. Personally, I think it would take a lot of excess pressure to over cut the depth on the cases.

I use this mostly to ream the primer pockets on military crimped .223 brass. It works well for that. I do all the reaming by hand because I can better feel what I am doing. I tried chucking it in a drill, but sometimes I would wobble, and make the pocket too big. By hand gives me more control. I have also used it to clean up the primer pockets of some of the 9mm brass that I pick up from the range. I have been using it for over 6 months now, and it seems to do a good job.

This really is more of a primer pocket uniforming tool than it is a crimp remover, but because it has a bevel, it will remove the worst part of the crimp. Federal bulk cases have pockets so tight nothing will help them, but on LC brass, and S&B or PMC (with squared pockets) this gives a perfect little bevel to make primer seating easier. If you need to remove a nasty crimp, save some cash and use a 1/4" drill bit, if you need to clean up cases or you reload a lot of range find, this is a nice tool to have in your setup.

Works great! I chuck the bit into a cordless drill and trim away. Removes the crimp on military brass and leaves a slight bevel into the primer pocket. Primers seat much smoother and all pockets are now uniform. Simple product that works very well.

This is an excellent tool. It makes priming stubborn surplus cases easy. It also seems to last a long time. I have reamed over 400 cases with mine with no signs of wear. The handle is rather short on it though. Also, you have to only spin it one way or the reamer starts to unscrew itself from the handle. Otherwise, an excellent product.

Very pleased! I bought both the large and small types. Works much better than the old "green" ones I've had for too long. They fit the pockets well and clean all the pocket - right up to the wall. Just a fraction of a turn and the pocket is clean. Highly recommended!

Have had the small and large de- crimping tools for years., then got a case care kit made an adapter to fit the 7/16/20 thread and long enough to drill a 5/8 hole in the end 1 inch in depth and a 1/4 -28 thread for a set screw to hold the tools ,mounted this little crank hand lathe on a board to set in my lap. what a tool it excepts the two crimp removal tools as well as the outside, inside standard chamfering-deburring tool,.625 Dia that are hand held also. No more hand holding, this is really great for us guys that can't hold on to cases any more, a piece of scott brite around the case will hold it just fine, just turn the crank . These are great tools when you need them they are not used on a daily ,but when they are needed, they make my day. Charlie!

See "Package" version, Midway item no. 804809. That contains large and small tool heads covering virtually all calibers of casings. This product is ingenious! Brilliant! And it costs chicken feed! Hold the empty casing gently with a pliers and by hand, twirl the cutting tool a few times in the crimped primer pocket. Chucking the casing or the tool in a drill jaws will probably overdo it and ruin your casing. As you twirl the tool, You will be able to see the crimp line vanish as the tool cuts away the crimp radius. The tool does not deepen or widen the entire pocket, but the tool bevels away the crimp ring. You can then seat a primer normally. I love this inexpensive and high quality product, but it is probably too slow for "mass production" if you have many dozens or hundreds of crimped casings to decrimp.

Works well but if you get a good bit on it you cant turn it, a T handle that you could get a better grip on would be better. It works and does a good job just makes your fingers get tired after a few times.
