This cantilever-style barrel-mounted base drops-in on all Volquartsen Ruger 10/22 barrels. The scope is mounted to the barrel rather than to the flexible alloy receiver. It is the ultimate scope mounting system for a Ruger 10/22. Uses Weaver-Style rings. May be adapted to other barrels by drilling and tapping the barrel.

The mount is equipped with supporting set screw to eliminate flex found in most other barrel mounts

The mount extends all the way back over the recevier to facilitate any necessary scope adjustments

Mounting hardware included

Includes 2 8-32 x 1/4" Socket Head Cap Screws

I've had this mount for ...

I've had this mount for over 4 years now and it has been nothing short of perfect for me. I've used it with a benchrest scope for pinpoint accuracy with no noticeable flex that others have written about. I have the rear set screw adjusted properly, so flex really isnt a concern. I've recently switched to a red dot set up for Ruger Rimfire competitions, and I anticipate no problems at all.

After mounting a Leupold ...

After mounting a Leupold base and rings and coming up short because of the barrel hole not lining up, I went with this to give it a shot. It's working with a volquartsen THM barrel (carbon fiber). Yeah it flexes, but it's not enough to throw the aim off a smudge. The accuracy is still amazing. I'm still fowling up the barrel but i have not had to re-adjust once! Recommend highly!

In my opinion, the gap ...

In my opinion, the gap between the base and top of the receiver isn't the prettiest look in the world and it does seem to have a lot of flex. However, the rear tension screw effectively eliminates the flex and the base seems to do a good job of isolating the scope from the flex inherent in the 10/22 receiver. Further, after installation, this base contributed to the most precise bore sighting I have ever had; it required only 1/2" of windage adjustment to be dead-on all the way out to 100 yards!

Due to the fact that not ...

Due to the fact that not all 10/22 receivers have a properly aligned barrel hole and the tight fit of Volquartsen barrels, this mount is THE way to go. Allows you to have all the adjustment in the scope. As far as flex is concerned, it only flexes when you push on it! So don't push on it and it wont flex. Join the NRA!

The Volquartsen ...

The Volquartsen cantilevered scope base for the Ruger 10/22 is excellent due to it's well made construction and durability. Most scope bases for the 10/22 are quite pitiful, but the Volquartsen is excellent. It delivers excellent performance and durability at an affordable price!

This is a pretty flimsy ...

This is a pretty flimsy mount with a lot of flex in it. A nice idea that would probably have worked well if made from steel or heavier aluminum. The 'tensioning" screw is an attempt to eliminate some of the flex from the mount but doesn't work well and necessitates removing the scope and rings and then re-zeroing every time the barrel is removed for cleaning. It has no advantage, and several disadvantages, over a regular receiver mounting system.

This thing is nice but it ...

This thing is nice but it flexes really bad. You can see the crosshairs "jump" on a dud or on a dry-fire. If it was steel it would be awesome , I'm going to see if I can shim up the unsupported side.
