Extracts stuck cases from standard sizer dies without damaging the die using a very simple two step removal process. Includes tap, drill bit, allen screw, allen wrench and remover. Will work with any brand of die.

Instructions for use

Unscrew the expander-decapping rod until the decapping pin is free of the primer flash hole in the stuck case. Secure the reloading die in a vice and drill the case head with the included drill bit. Drill straight through the primer pocket and the primer flash hole. Next tap the case head the included 1/4"-20 tap. Place the stuck case remover body onto the case head and turn the cap screw with the allen-type wrench until the case is pulled from the die. Discard the case and reassemble the die.

Honestly, I don't SEE ...

Honestly, I don't SEE much difference between this kit and the Redding kit (other than a slight price difference) but I haven't tried the Redding kit while I've used this one once.Worked quite well, but I'm really surprised that no one's used the two magic words: "Penetrating Oil".Being a huge fan of Kroil, that's what I used after the drill & tap and prior to the "crank it out" operation. A few drops of Kroil between the case and the die wall, tap the case lightly with piece of metal (the Allen wrench works quite well and it's probably already handy) to set up a bit of vibration to help the Kroil work its way between the case and die (I usually tap just hard enough to get things to "ring" softly, and will usually keep at it for almost a minute for longer cases--7mm Rem Mag was the instance I ran into), and then use the spacer and screw.The one time I had to use the kit, the friend who actually owned the setup I was using swore a blue streak 'cause he hadn't ever thought of the penetrating oil even though he'd been using it to help clean his bores for a long while. He said that it looked a heck of a lot easier while I was doing it than every other time he'd had to pull a stuck case. Just really wanted to throw that into the mix in the hopes it helps others....

First case removal, .223 ...

First case removal, .223 Rem X-Die, was a real pain in the backsides. Could not remove decapping assembly and the case removal allen screw kept coming into contact with it. Had to use a box wrench as a spacer to prevent excessive allen screw travel into the case. On the second case removal (.308 Winchester) the tap shattered, leaving half of it hopelessly stuck in the case. Now I have an expensive fishing weight. Gotta buy a new die set... Not impressed at all.

i have used this product to get both 30-06 and 308 cases out of my dies due to using spray case lube. so easy to use, so quick and nothing gets damaged.

i recommend this product to other reloaders.

The drill bit and tap broke into pieces

First the drill bit broke due to my fault. I should have used the drill press rather than trying to drill free-hand. That was followed by the tap bit shattering when I was trying to extract the case. That was the result of the cockeyed hand drilling with the drill bit.
I went and purchased a replacement resizing die and chucked the one with the stuck case and broken tap.
The concept is good, but the instructions should be modified to insure a straight drilling.
I will be buying a replacement from you soon.

Used the product and it stripped out in the case head. Ended up making my own out of heavier stock and fine thread 1/4 tap and bolt. Concept is sound just needs to be made stronger.

I have to say, this product worked much easier than I thought it would, just with a little "after market assistance". I took the advice of other reviewers, and used a T-handle for the tap. Made the process much easier. Would be nice if they provided one of them. The only issue I had, which is mentioned in another review, is that with my X-die, I needed to add 2 extra washers under the supplied washer due to the non-removable decapping pin. But, I had them handy so no big issue. Something to think about though... I did gouge the Decapping pin slightly, but not enough to impede function. All in all, worth the 16 bucks.

Well I did it, I stuck a case in one of my die sets. Eventually this happens to every reloader. I tried the cheap way to get the case out by removing the decapping assembly and using a punch to knock the piece of brass out but that didnt work only punched out flash hole and primer pocket. I was unsure if this would work b/c I had left a pretty big hole in the bottom of the case when my punch rammed through the stuck brass. Long story short this kit is amazing, I chucked the drill bit up and made a uniform hole (it was off center but it didnt matter) then chucked up the tap in my drill and tapped some threads then simply put the assembly on the die with the allen screw and easily and effortlessly pulled that piece of stuck brass. I should have used this first before banging away on my die. It would have saved me a few bucks as I had to replace the decapping assembly as I bent it trying to pull it out of the die. The hints some of these reviewers post about using washers is dead on especially if you dont remove the decapping assembly. The included bolt is fairly long.

Works as advertised. The hard part is getting the die removed from the press. You have to rip the rim off unless you can find a way to slip the shellholder off of it. After that it is easy. You drill out the primer pocket, tap the hole, screw the puller in and put it back in your press. If you got it stuck on a progressive it is nice to have a RockChucker for utility work like this.

This thing worked well! Following the instructions and putting the die in my vice with the aluminum blocks, I drilled, tapped and pulled the case in about 2 minutes total. So simple, but it works.
