Works flawlessly with the ...

Works flawlessly with the cheapest store-bought ammunition and with any hand load I can throw at it. Works flawlessly in a Firestorm 1911, which is not exactly a precision piece, so it should work pretty well in any 1911 you've got. By the way, it's about five times the quality of the mag that came with the Firestorm, but that doesn't surprise me. I have bought five of these so far, and each is precisely like the other.

I received 3 mags for my Taurus PT1911 in exchange for the ones that did not work. 2 of the 3 had the same problem as before, hard to insert and extract. I sent them back in exchange for Kimbers. I emailed McCormick to see if they have seen this problem with the PT1911. I haven't received an answer yet. I also went to a local gun store and tried a McCormick Power Mag in stainless steel. It worked well. It is only a sample size of one but I believe they will work well in my gun. They are better made than the Shooting Stars and are easier to load as well. Midway cutomer service has been outstanding.

These mags are great! They are all I run through my Kimber TLE/RL II and Springfield Mil Spec and with flawless results. You can buy two for the price of one wilson mag and have a mag that is just as reliable and has a superior basepad in my opinion. Buy with confidence!

I received 2 Kimber Tac Mags to replace the 2 Shooting Stars I returned. 1 of the 2 Kimbers had the same problem in my Taurus PT1911. I also received a reply from McCormick with the max dimensions allowed for the magazines. I measured the magazines and they were all within tolerance. The problem is the tolerances in my PT1911s magazine well. I will have to hand pick magazines from now on. I would buy CMC Pro Mags in the future rather than Shooting Stars, however, as they are easier to load.

This magazine did not fit in my RIA Match 1911. It would fully insert, but not click and lock in place. You could pull it right back out. The Mec-Gar magazine fit perfect.

3 of the 4 magazines I received did not function correctly in my Taurus PT1911. They were very hard to insert and remove and would not drop from the magazine well by gravity. The fourth magazine worked well.

I have 10 CM mags that I use in practice and in competition. In the past 10 years, I have had only one "failure to feed" out of thousands of rounds fired. Like any mag, they must be tuned from time to time and the springs should be changed at proper intervals. There may be better mags out there but not at this price.

I bought these magazines for my RIA Tactical, and I could'nt be happier. They were a little stiff at first, would'nt quite fall free every time, but 300 rounds later all 3 load and drop slick as glass. Since I started using my CM Shooting Star mags I have'nt had one jam, and my slide locks every time. The best thing is the price, for just a few dollars more than surplus mags, you can have these. The bump pad on the bottom makes for sure fire reloads, I dont have to push with my thumb to make sure it locks, bump and go. Money well spent in my opinion.

I now have 9 of these and use them quite a bit on my USPSA SS setup. I love these mags, they work perfect with my 1911... My only criticism is that I wish the bottom base was removable for easier cleaning...
