The caliber-specific LaserLyte Laser Trainer Cartridge that offers a revolutionary way to train almost anywhere. The Laser Trainer Cartridge is the most realistic training option in LaserLyte's popular line of Laser Trainers with the choice to practice tap, rack, bang or malfunction drills. Designed to match popular calibers the new Laser Trainer Cartridge fits inside the pistol chamber and features a firing-pin activated switch that indicates bullet impact with a bright red laser dot. For the cost of one or two visits to a local range, shooting enthusiasts can enjoy a lifetime of free training with the Laser Trainer Cartridge at the location that works best for them. Each Laser Trainer Cartridge easily installs into the firing chamber in seconds, works regardless of barrel length and does not stick out of the barrel. The Laser Trainer Cartridge activates for 100 milliseconds each time the firing pin strikes the cartridge. This modified cartridge is rimless, so the Laser Trainer Cartridge is not expelled during dry fire, which allows for tap, rack, bang or malfunction training drills. A hardened rubber plunger on the laser also acts as a built-in snap cap to protect the firing pin and two rubber rings on the laser help ensure a proper fit in order to best replicate bullet impact for accurate training. The LaserLyte Laser Trainer Cartridge requires three 377 batteries (included), good for approximately 3,000 shots.

Just received this a couple of days ago and have used it in both a Sig 226 and an XDm. It came with a set of three batteries already loaded and an extra set of three. The set in the cartridge ran out fairly fast, as I expected that they would having been in the unit for an unknown amount of time. It worked without any flaws. By using it I have already been able to correct several things that I have been doing wrong. I have a tendency to flinch downward when I pull the trigger as well as move the end of the gun to the right (I am left-handed). The laser is bright enough to see over 15 yards indoors, but is not bright enough to be used outside in the daylight. To see where the laser strikes, it is necessary to shoot with both eyes open - also great training!As stated in the instructions, the unit will stay chambered when racking the slide, so you do not have to worry about ejecting it if you have to rack the slide as the XDm requires. To remove it from the barrel, simply install the eraser end of a pencil into the end of the barrel and gently and carefully push the unit out through the breach end.My wife was even impressed enough with it to start using it as well. She was able to see what she was doing wrong quickly as well. I also ordered 30 spare batteries as backups. I plan to use it daily!

Just received the unit today and it works well except that the POA/POI are off. I tried it in 4 different 9mm handguns and the POI seems to be consistently off anywhere from 1-4 inches at around 5-15 yards. It is either high-left, high-right, low-left or right, depending which way it ends up in the chamber. It fits very snug in the chamber but it seems as though the laser mechanism is not perfectly centered internally. Not a huge deal as it is still plenty close for point and shoot drills but I was expecting it to be as accurate as my older LT-1 model. I did notice that if I used a pencil to really push the unit as tightly as I could into the chamber, the accuracy got a little better but it was still not as dead nuts on accurate as my LT-1. I may return it and try again.

I read all the cons on this topic before buying it. I am using it in a H&K P30 and it works great. From previous comments, it looks like the GLOCK firing pin damages the device. I have had no problems. Great trainer for trigger control. Of course there is no recoil and you can not do double action double taps. You need the target to ge the most out of the system. I am totally satisfied with the device.

I use mine daily for 20-50 rounds of dry fire practice. It gives instant feedback on how I am holding and how steady. I bought a second one for my son. I have had no problems with the cartridge in my Glock. I had to replace the batteries (it takes 3) after about 6 months, but that's a bunch cheaper than buying practice ammo. The only thing it won't help with is learning to control recoil, but it's a very effective way to learn grip, trigger control, and sight picture.

The most difficult part of accuracy is trigger control. This device allows you to practice smooth triger control daily at home by showing you exactly where a bullet would have gone at distances of more than fifty feet using your favorite firearm. As a NRA firearms instructor, I recommend it to all my students.

Best if used with Layserlyte target....when you use only the laser itself, your eyes will switch from your sight picture to looking for the laser dot after pressing the trigger all within a split second...wrong thing to do. With the target system, you get feedback on where your 'shot' landed after, I repeat, AFTER you activate the target feedback....the idea being, trying to get tight groupings....trigger control. Your eyes stay on proper sight picture and not trying to see where your laser dot landed. Only when you activate the target feedback, showing where your shots landed, will you know how well your 'shooting'.This unit is not intended to be used for 'sighting-in' your gun. Its purpose is 'dry fire' practice, and for that, it's an excellent tool...spend the money, if your serious, and buy the Target also.

I am not inclined to write a bad review, but this is a poorly made and supported product. The first one (in 9 mm) lasted 40-50 shots. Then the switch apparently failed. I sent it back (costing me another $6 postage and insurance) and after several weeks it was replaced. The replacement lasted a few more short training sessions, then the beam became misaligned off center, then the unit totally failed. It was always used in a clean gun. Emails sent to the company explaining my concerns were not returned. Although a great idea and useful for training it was a waste of money. 2 big thumbs down for LaserLyte.

Wow! This combined with the Laserlyte target is the greatest thing ever! I don't know how I ever trained before these came along. I can operate the pistol just like I would at the range. Rack the slide, bump the mag, clear misfires, reload (with an empty mag). Don't even bother with the LT-1 unless you want a good boresighter.

Good in theory, poor in practice. Good only for very light casual use. The unit often stays on and will not turn off. After racking the slide, the unit will turn on and stay on. I would return it for a refund if I could.

Just got it and tried it out a bit. So far so good. I might get the companion electronic target later. In any case, even though the laser just lights up briefly its long enough to see where you 'hit' and also very clearly shows any flinching etc. I can see that regular practice with this will improve my shooting. Comes with 2 sets of batteries, one already installed.

This product works as advertised. I use it for training students. No issue with functionality, fit or durability. On my second set of batteries after about 2,500 shots. The Trainer System with this cartridge will save lots of money and if used as intended improve accuracy.
