Installed in Auto-Ordnance 1911-A1 and was a drop-in fit. Right grip panel had to be modified. Color matched the gun's parkerized finish.

I used this combo on my GI EXPERT. They fit perfectly with no fitting required. They have functioned flawlessly. I would recommend them to anyone wanting a good set of ambi safeties.

Bought this to replace a broken ambidextrous safety on my Taurus PT 1911. The item is described as "matte blue", but is actually a matte black color just like parkerizing. This is a good thing since it matched the Taurus's finish perfectly. Installation was simple and required no hand fitting. Overall quality is very good. The two halves fit together perfectly. There are a few minor molding and machining marks and the finish is utilitarian, but for the price, I'm very satisfied. I'd give the part a 5 except for the fact that I have not used it for long enough to comment on it's long term durability, which I expect to be just fine. I'm likely to get another one of these and put it on my Colt 1991A1.

Pleasantly surprised that the safety dropped right in my American Classic ACII with no fitting. Only had to modify the right side grip panel. Like it so much I may buy another for my RIA 1911.

Easy install on my Springfield Champion with no fitting required. Operates smoothly when using either hand with no hangup or failure to engage the slide. After several hundred rounds, still no problems.

Now that I have had this installed for a while I am rewriting my review. The Colt Ambidextrous Safety Fits my Springfield Armory Mil-Spec great. The overall Finish is OK, but the Functionality is great. I like being able to check the safety from either side while its in a holster. I will buy another one for my Detonics Combat Master soon.

I am disappointed in the finish of this product. I was expecting a smother quality finish from Colt. function and fit was Ok in my Springfield. I'm keeping the original government safety for now.

A fine product. Had to work the pins a little to avoid binding of the grip safety on my RIA compact but after that , it works just fine. A must have item if you practice from both sides.

Being a lefty I needed an ambi safety and this one dropped into my STI spartan without fitting. Works perfectly too. Being left handed is sinister, get it? Cause sinister is Latin for left handed
