Product Information

The DPMS Oracle AR-15 Upper Receiver Assembly comes completely assembled and ready for installation on any standard small pin, mil-spec lower receiver. The Oracle is an excellent entry-level upper assembly that incorporates the versatility of the A3 Flat-Top configuration in selecting a preferred sighting arrangement with a solid, fully functional foundation of quality components. Add to that an attractive price and the Oracle becomes the ideal candidate for shooter customization and/or for assembling a lightweight, fast handling, general purpose carbine that won't break the bank.

The Oracle features a 16" Light Contour "Pencil" Barrel for reduced weight, a true 5.56x45mm NATO chamber for use with either commercial or mil-spec ammunition, and employs the versatile 1 in 9" rifling twist rate capable of stabilizing a wide selection of different bullet weights. The upper comes equipped with heat resistant GlacierGuard polymer handguards, single rail gas block, ejection port door, forward assist, shell deflector, charging handle, complete bolt & carrier assembly, and an A2 flash hider. Aluminum parts are hard coat anodized to mil-spec, steel parts are manganese phosphate treated (parkerized) matte black.

Wow! For the money, this ...

Wow! For the money, this exceeded all of my expectations! Fast shipping and this upper is awesome. Nice fit on my CMMG lower... just right! Awesome performer... No issues whatsoever with any ammo I shot, even the cheap Herters steel case junk ammo! After barrel break in I was shooting nice 1" groups using my Eotech 512. Put in SARCK 22 cal conversion kit to try it out and it performed flawlessly for over 300 rounds! Swapped out Glacier handguard for Magpul MOE and installed Slidefire Stock. Still no issues... Using Slidefire, yes it gets hot, but it still functions flawless! If you are looking for a direct impingement, lightweight, fast handling carbine upper, this is it!

Unfortunately my DPMS ...

Unfortunately my DPMS Oracle Upper had an elongated pin hole in the rear lug. Could not insert assembly pin unless I wanted to use a hammer. The barrel was extremely dirty and the bolt was sticky leading me to the conclusion that it may have been a returned item. However, Midway has always been responsive to returns so I am exchanging it and will try again.

Purchased the upper as a first time rifle build for me and my son. Fit was perfet on a NewFrontier lower. Followed recommended break-in procedures provided by DPMS and now have a very accurate rifle. Have put about 1500 rounds thru it without a single problem using AmericanEagle .223 FMJ. I will buy another to build a rifle for my son.

I really wanted this barrel. But for the price I got the whole upper. Threw a same plane gas block yhm sights and magpul furnature on my lower. I now have a rifle that dry is right over 5 lbs. fast on target and don't mind carrying it arround all day. As you would expect from a light barrel if you go through a mag quick it starts steeming all of your oil off and the groups open a little but if your looking at this chances are you don't want a bench gun. It's a blast and the whole family can use it due to the improved balance. Thanks dpms and midway. If you want a light Ar upper for a great value look no further.

I found this to be a great light rifle & had no trouble getting 1" groups with it. It works great with the lower for my HB DPMS 20" clasic for a lighter field gun.

Nice lite upper, without the front sight can mount the scope/red dot closer to the barrel and that makes getting a good cheek weld easier.
Fit and finish appropriate
Goes on my lower without any problems

At first I was really frustrated with the accuracy of this upper. Then I figured out the muzzle brake was coming lose. Some locktite and it was good to go! For the money this is a high quality upper. The only downside is that it seems to get hot quickly and therefore groups start opening up cosiderably after 100 rounds or so. Still...a great buy, I'd buy it again. The quality is sound and with decent handloads (I'd recommend the midway downtowns, check 'em out) I can get .5 - .75 MOA consistently at 100 yards. I can also hit a softball size steel target 4 out of 5 times at 300 yards with this puppy. Good stuff.

This upper works great. It fit perfectly with my New Frontieer lower. Run many rounds through with no trouble. Price is good as well. Plan on getting another when I can.
