The Command Arms FRS Low Profile Flip Up Rear Sight is a great addition to any AR-15 rifle for use as a primary or backup rear iron sight. The slim, low profile design and hybrid steel/polymer construction make for a lightweight yet durable sight that can withstand harsh use in the field. The sight incorporates 3 different sighting arrangements: a large aperture for CQB and low light use, small aperture for longer range shooting, and a leaf /notch set atop the small aperture for shooters who prefer a more traditional sight picture. Additional features include a spring loaded push button for quick sight deployment, finger adjustable windage knob, and repeat-zero capability if removed. Attaches securely to any Picatinny-syle rail with a clamp and square center lug to eliminate movement once installed. Lifetime factory warranty. Made in Israel.

I chose these back up sights to mount an a Lage Max10/9 upper because these use a side push button to deploy the sights, whereas I couldn't use mbus because there wasn't enough clearance with the upper to push the release down to use them.

The mounting screw is very different from other picatinny rail attachments. The flip springs are adequate to keep the sights up, but are not as strong as other flip up springs I have used. Not that it's a bad thing, just that it doesn't seem as strong.

And finally, the small aperture is way too small.

The large one will likely be fine for night/cqb as is intended, but I wonder what the accuracy is going to be at longer distances with the large aperture. I may try the notch sight at longer distances, but I don't know what to expect from it yet.

Good stable Back Up ...

Good stable Back Up sight, locks solidly in place when down, and spring pressure is strong enough to keep it straight when deployed. Ambidextrous push buttons to pop it up take alittle getting used to, worth practicing with so you won't have to funger fumble it if you really need it; let the muscle memory do that part for you. No shift in zero sofar, and the carbine it's on is the beater gun, that has been dropped more than a few times. The only major drawback I've found is the peep aperture with the small notch on top. The peep and notch don't have enough meat in between them, and the sight picture ends up as a blurry circle with a small blurry open block on top. It would probably be better to just eliminate the small peep and enlarge the notch for a CQB sight picture. My opinion though.
