The Lyman 2500 Pro Magnum Case Tumbler is perfect for a high volume reloader. The time tested and proven, heavy duty motor now has features which improve the air flow to the motor. This improved circulation increases the amount of cooling on the motor allowing extending the life of the motor. The 2500 comes with a massive bowl which has a two gallon capacity, large enough to tumble 1000 38 Special cases while holding 7 lbs of media.

I shoot a lot of 38 super for IPSC competition and this tumbler is one of the better designed ones that I have used. I had Hornady prior to this but had to use a sifter to separate cases from media. With the Lyman Auto-flo, this is not needed. Just pull the plug and allow the media to empty itself into a pan leaving the cases behind. This is much better than transfering to sifter. THe cleaning action is very good and you've got shiny brass in 1 hour tumbling. The Lyman is the best design and I suggest you get one or the Autoflo Kit if it fits your tumbler.

I have used it pretty hard at times and have no problems. If I should ever need another tumbler this will be the one. Price for performance, this is a great deal.Most Recent Review 6/29/2009:I wrote a review of this tumbler in January of 2009 and was very impressed with it. Two days ago it started making a strange noise. I removed the bowl and found the base, where the motor mounts, has cracked and piece has broken off.My Midway tumbler that I have had since the 1990's has not had this problem and it has cleaned a lot more brass than the 2500.I contacted Lyman and the guarantee ended at one year. The best they would do was sell me a new base at close to the price of a new tumbler.

I got one and it died after a month. The motor is just not appropriate for this size unit. Not durable enought by a long shot. I would rather pay twice as much for a unit that worked long term.

This is the quietest tumbler vie ever used I'm amazed and its pretty big for the money I wish it had a on and off switch but thats the only flaw I see in it I have broken a few of the cheap ones and this one is a great bargain

I ordered a Lyman 2500 and received it in mid November 2011. By the last week of December 2011 the motor had quit. It could not possibly have more that about 15 hrs. and 500 cases of use. It is currently on it's way back to Lyman. From some of the other reviews I have read, mine is not the first 2500 to crap out after very minimal use.

Got this tumbler thinking it was a good deal and used it for about two months. Noticed the last time I used it that the motor was locked up making a high pitched whining noise. Unplugged the unit took off the bowl and used compressed air to blow out the motor area. Plugged it back in and the thing sparked, smoked and almost caught on fire. Not even going to bother with replacement, I am trying a different product!

Ive been using this tumbler every other weekend for the past year with no problems. I like to separate my cases by caliber so Ill run 3 batches back to back for 3 hours each. This thing goes for 9 hours straight twice a month with everything from a handful of .308 to over two hundred .223. I dont see it dying anytime soon but if it does Ill buy another.

I bought this tumbler in April 2011 to replace my second Frankford Arsenal Tumbler that crapped out on me. First off the Lyman is about 2x the size of the FA, which is just amazing, and about 1/2 as loud, maybe more. You can actually have a conversation in the same room as this thing without having to yell.Well now here's the bad thing. The Lyman motor started having trouble after a couple months of heavy use. It would run for about an hour and then slow down and even stop. I emailed Lyman and they asked me to send it back. So I mailed the motor back at the end of June (cost about $14). I didn't hear a word from them until a new motor arrived on my doorstep a month later. This new one has been working perfectly for a month now and I'm hoping it will continue to do so. I bought this after hearing of the good personal experience a friend of mine has had with them. His unit has been going strong for years now.

Had this for a couple of years now. Like others, I got one with a bad motor. Worked great at first, but after a few loads it would slow down. Lyman replaced the motor and it's been fine since. I also think the motor is a little on the small side for the capacity. I should be able to run 1000 9mm or .40SW cases at a time, but it just doesn't have quite enough power, as 700 is about the limit.

The product's durability is not worth the money you will spend. I own 6 of the tumblers and only 2 are working as of today. 4 have quit in less than one year. The performance of the product is also poor they run good for the first month then the motors start slowing down making cleaning the brass take longer times. Before they quit working it was talking 12 hours to get my brass 1/2 clean I now own 2 other BLUE tumblers and they are running great and cleaning brass in less than 1 hour I would not buy this unit again.
