Timney Sportsman Triggers feature a lightweight alloy housing and hardened steel working surfaces. They are lightweight, rugged and durable. The trigger pull is adjustable from 2 to 4 lbs and is adjustable for creep, backlash and overtravel. These triggers require the use of the original safety. Minor fitting may be required.

Installation (5 stars):I installed this trigger into a 6.5 x 55 Swedish Mauser that was modified by Kimber. Kimber did very little to the 2 stage military trigger that was original to the firearm. As such, I decided to replace it with the Timney trigger. The installation was straight forward and relatively simple. It is my feeling even the novice could easily make this installation.Operation (3 stars):I have performed trigger modifications on 1911 45s using Cylinder & Slide components with very good success. Lets face it, the main reason for any trigger change or modification is to reduce the force to trip the trigger, reduce or eliminate drag, and increase reliability and safety. In this case I found that the Timney trigger did reduce the force to trip the trigger. I went from a 6 lbs. 2.2 oz. pull to 3 lbs 12.8 oz average trigger pull. This was within the published limits in Timneys literature. However, I found this trigger to have a rough spot just before it trips; which is obviously the worst spot to have any drag. I contacted Timney who suggested that I take a look at the trigger and sear engagement surfaces and if necessary I would polish and rough spots that I found; which I did. After doing this I found that the trigger assembly performed as a 5; clean and crisp. Conclusion:I am not sure if I just receive a trigger with the minor anomaly of a rough spot or if all their triggers would have this rough spot. I would prefer to think I just got the one substandard part. That being said, I would recommend this trigger especially if you have the knowledge (or know some one with the knowledge) to make this minor modification of polishing the components if it is necessary.
