These work really well in my 10/22. They are clearly seen. They will break eventually but it takes a lot, every once in a while you'll get one that'll crack on the first shot but not often and they won't jam my 10/22. I'm not sure about other .22s though.

I just tried these in my beretta u22. These shatter the first time the firing pin hits them, and the extractor rips the rim off leaving big chunks of plastic blocking the chamber, a bit too deep to readily be seen. I had to drive out plastic fragments that were jammed in the chamber using my cleaning rod. Might be useful as dummy rounds, but the aluminum ones are better for that purpose. These are unusable as snap caps, and can potentially create a very dangerous bore obstruction.

Based on the majority of other reviews here, I must be using these snap caps wrong.

I have never had one break, split or splinter from a firing pin strike.
They will even load from the magazine in my Taurus PT22 when manually racking the slide.

These are mostly hit and miss. Some will break apart after the first firing pin hit, other will stay together for over a dozen hits if you rotate it. The worst is when the rim breaks and gets ripped off by the ejector, then you have to poke the rest of the dummy round out with a cleaning rod.

More than likely you will not get 10 hits on these snap caps. It will be closer to 4 or 5 maximum...... at least in my firearms. The price is a little steep for 24 pieces of plastic. That being said, I am still giving it 3 stars because this is not a bad price to pay compared to a repair job on your .22 firearm. I like the idea of always being able to take the compression off the firing pin spring for a faster lock time, without damage to the weapon.

Like many of the other reviews, I had the same results of snapping off of the rim. I had to use a rod to poke out the remainder in the barrel.

I use these in all forms of .22LR firearms (revolvers/bolt actions/autoloaders/gallery guns), and the only firearm that I have ever had a problem with these is in a Beretta 87, which will break the rim completely off every time. 33 cents apiece to protect the edge of your chamber vs. ruining your firearm. You do the math!!!!

These are not up to the reputation of the Pachmayr name. They shattered on the first firing pin strike in my Ruger Mk III tearing the rim and having to be dug out.

Unlike other raters I have found these to be excellent. I have tried them on some or my hardest hitting rim fire guns and they do not break. These are nice for checking how your gun strikes, practice loading and breaking in a gun as well as getting used to double action trigger pull.
