Lyman Bullet Lubes eliminate leading and improve the accuracy of cast bullets. Orange Magic is perfect for rapid-fire handgun events because of its low smoke output. All lubes are hollow sticks which are 1" x 4" a lube heater is recommended for best results. With a melting point of 150 Degrees Fahrenheit Lyman Orange Magic lube will not melt out of loaded ammunition at high temperatures.

Pleasant mild orange scent

A little skeptical of the claims, but I tried the product. In a word, FANTASTIC. Used on .30 and .458 hard cast (BHN 21-24) bullets pushed hard w/o gas checks proved zero leading. A very pleasant side note is the mild orange scent while lubing and sizing. Only sightly tacky once it hardens, but may still pick up debris if dropped.

This lube was used on bullets cast of wheel weights. The mould used was an RCBS 45-230-RN.The weight of the bullets with this alloy was 236 grains.The powder used was Win 231. The pistol used was a Kimber Classic Stainless with 5 inch barrel. Velocity at 10 feet for 10 shots averaged 863fps. A Shooting Chrony F-1 was used to obtain these results. Before i started this session i cleaned the barrel with an Outers Foul out II bore cleaner. After cleaning the barrel i weighed it with the link attached. I fired a total of 100 rounds through the barrel. The pistol was taken apart, and 2 dry patches were passed through the bore. This was all the cleaning that i did. I then weighed the barrel again, and it was only 4.3 grains heaver than when cleaned with the excelent Foul Out II system. I have performed this test with other lubes, and the results obtained were not nearly as good as with the Orange Magic results. I am sold on this bullet lube. I use the lyman heater with my LAM II,and this lube flows very well. When dry this lube is not sticky. Low smoke, and the orange smell is a plus! This is the only lube that i will use from now on.

I use this lube for loading 44 Special and 357 Magnum, with velocities ranging from 700 to 1200+ feet per second. I've been impressed so far with the lube's performance. Smoke output is minimal, and there is practically no leading to speak of. An additional plus is that the smoke that is generated is no foul-smelling like some other lubes. One additional note: It is absolutely necessary to use a heater though. The lube will not flow (with damaging your lubrisizer) properly otherwise.

This lube works great. I have used it for my 45 ACP and have had no leading. You will want to let this lube heat up before using it - a good 20 minutes heat up will save your arm from a workout. The lube does produce a little smoke, but not much at all. This stuff does stay in the lube ring when stored - even when stored in a utility building during those hot southern summers. Lube is a little sticky but does remain a little tacky so keep it safe from dust and dirt.

The Bullet lube applied ...

The Bullet lube applied easily with a heater only allowing 15 to 20 minutes warming up. The lube cooled rapidly however leaving a waxy film over the bullet. The lube produced more smoke then equally loaded Thompson Blue Angel Lube.

I used to use the grease ...

I used to use the grease in a RCBS lubematic. I purchased a Lyman universal heater plate and started using this lube. The grease was always messy and sticky but this lube is dry to the touch. It took about a half a tube through the luber to clean it out in which bullets came out half and half. Now they come out clean and orange. The smell is a super plus as it does smell like oranges. It is the only lube that melts that does not tell you to NOT use it indoors! Some of the other lubes smell quite toxic and this is pleasant. The performance in firing is even better than I had hoped. The grease I used to use left the barrel filthy and this looked very good. Leading was also reduced in the rifling significantly. The hardness of this lube does require a heater, which can be had for a reasonable price no matter what kind of luber you own. I would highly recommend you using the heater with this lube.
