The Lee Precision Factory Crimp Die crimps the bullet firmly in place. It features a collet that squeezes the case mouth into the crimping groove for a firm hold. It is nearly impossible to buckle the case as with a regular roll crimp die. Features 1-1/4x12 threaded die. Shellholder sold separately.

Good crimper die. Puts on a tight crimp on the 50. Very negligible bullet run-out. I use this die in a Redding Ultramag press after removing the press bushing. A 50 BMG shell holder is available from Hornady to fit standard rams. Love Lee crimpers!!

I hate Lee products but ...

I hate Lee products but after trying this crimper, I find it works better than RCBS or Hornady dies. It won't collapse the neck like others and has the least bullet run-out. You can also tighten the crimp as much as you like. Regret it but this is a 5 stars product!

Very good crimper die. Easy to set-up, very consistent, not case length sensitive. I used to have problems of bullet run-out with other crimper. This is the only crimper that holds the bullet secure under heavy recoil of my Barrett 50. Cheap too!!

Wonderful crimper. I have used Hornady and RCBS crimpers but the Lee is miles ahead. Produces the least bullet run-out vs. more expensive dies. It does not buckle the neck and very easy to adjust. I had problems finding the press bushing so I can use this in my Hornady 50 BMG press. I found it in CH4D website, Press Bushing Part No PTB 10 to convert 1-1/2x12 to 1-1/4x12. Lee is the best crimper die for 50 bmg.

If you have an auto loader in 50bmg, you need this die. Puts on a solid crimp to hold the bullet during auto cycle. Ordinary crimpers often bulge or collapse the case neck. This die doesn't. Can also be used for neck sized ammo with little effect on accuracy. Glad Lee makes this in 50bmg caliber.

Doesnt seem to do full crimp like the instructions say, but it does put a good crimp in. I had to pull a bullet before the crimp, it got seated 1/4" to deep, but the case neck was opened to much for the bullet to just sit in, the crimp die fixed it. Lee makes the best stuff for the price.

I have the RCBS 50BMG ...

I have the RCBS 50BMG dies and Ammomaster press but find this Lee crimper better than the RCBS unit. It's not case length sensitive and produces a more solid crimp. I've also used this on neck sized ammo with no problems and accuracy is still excellent (sub MOA) on a Vulcan 50 shooting close to 400 yds. I also used a press conversion bushing from CH4D to switch my press from 1-1/2x12 to 1-1/4x12 in order to use the Lee die w/ no problem. I'm glad this product is available. Made my rounds more accurate. Thanks to Lee and Midway!

The .50 BMG Factory Crimp die makes VERY secure crimps without damaging the bullet. I tried to pull a bullet I crimped with very little force applied to the press arm, and I couldn't. I'll need to get a beefier collet puller to pull any Factory Crimped .50 BMG bullets. This secure crimp is mandatory for semi-automatics, but it can be useful for bolt action rifles too. It makes the ammo very insensitive to rough handling, and a solid crimp allows chamber pressure to build more before the bullet starts to move, resulting in more consistent ignition of slow burning powder and possibly greater accuracy.
