Have started using this ...

Have started using this in a Ruger77MKII VT with a 28" match barrel. No problems extracting,or chambering. No problems with primers at this point. With the suggested load of H4350 using both Berger 140 VLD's and Sierra 140 MKS groups hold at .125 - .20 in at 100 yds, 3 rnd groups - in the case of the Sierras a ragged one hole group. Will test for longevity of cases.

Eh No Choice

First off I now shoot 3 rounds that I can only find Hornady Brass for 30TC, 300RCM and now 6.5CM. I have bought 30TC brass and 300RCM brass without issues. This brass seemed to be over annealed down to the mid point on the body. Several pieces had primer pocket burrs but that happens no big deal thats why we do case prep. On visual inspection things all seem pretty good other then my prior statement then I weighed them. Yikes in my 100 pieces I have an 8.5 grain spread 143.7gr low end 6 pieces to 152.2 high end 5 pieces. This made me really look at the brass for other possible issues. Ended up neck turning all of it neck thickness was not consistant at all. Found several cases that were to long having never been fired so I set up and trimmed all them even. Could be just a bad lot also will use them have no choice Lot# is 4120449. Bottom line I am hoping Norma picks this brass up or I will find a way to form it from 308 or 260 Norma brass.

Pretty good stuff - uniform, still looks good after four firings. I only wish the primer pockets were a little tighter - most of them have virtually zero resistance when seating the primer, a bit unsettling. I've only seen evidence of one primer leak thus far (out of four boxes). Well, it's not like I have the option to switch to the competition! But on balance, I've been happy with this brass.

I have 10 loads so far with this brass using 42.5 grs of H4350 using 142SMK pills and so far it's still holding up! Best brass out there for the Creedmoor.....wait it's the only brass out there so far! LOL I heard Hornady did some changes to this brass as when it first came out it was only lasting 2-3 loads and got to say whatever they changed it was for the better! Keep it up Hornady!

I have purchased 300 cases of this brass over the past year (2 lot #'s), and I have been impressed with it. I like how it comes from the factory sealed tightly in a box unlike the other manufactures that just package in a loose plastic bag. The cases arrive in great condition. Compared to brass from other manufactures the Hornady brass a higher quality. The primer pockets are much more consistent and cleanly formed. I have 50 cases that I use for load development and I am up to 5 loads on them and they are still in great shape. If Lapua picks up this cartridge I may try some of their brass, but until then I am completely satisfied with this Hornady Creedmoor brass.

I've been using this brass in my DPMS LR-6.5 without any problems. After reading reviews of loose/leaking primer pockets, I originally purchased 5 boxes. Needless to say I have only used my first two boxes, reloaded 5x over and this brass is still holding. On a side note: NOT Midway's fault. I received two deformed brass one with no shoulder (straight wall) and one crushed below the shoulder. I contacted Hornady Customer Service, they asked for pictures of the deformed brass. Right away Hornady sent me a handful of brass to replace my 2 deformed brass. Excellent customer service from Hornady!

I prefer Lapua and if ...

I prefer Lapua and if they ever picked up this cartridge I would use it. Having said that this brass gets a bad rap. I did experience some primer pocket problems but after paying closer attention I'm confident it's from to load being too hot. I also think the neck was biting the bullet on some of my reloading increasing pressure etc. All in all if the brass was cheaper I would be happier.

Been using this brass in my F-Class Remington 700, duplicating the load listed on the factory loaded ammo box. I have reloaded one lot of 50 brass 9 times (neck sized only), with a trim after the 4th and 8th firings, and lost a grand total of one to a loose primer pocket. Case neck tension on the bullets has loosened slightly, but all are tight enough that bullet pull accuracy issues have not been seen. Not sure how many more loadings this lot will take but I'll keep using them, along with my other brass, in practice and competition until they give out. Great quality brass.
