Product Information

The PTG AICS Trigger Guard for the Remington 700 short action replaces the factory bottom metal and allows the use of any Accuracy International Chassis System (AICS) pattern 5 or 10-round detachable box magazine. This trigger guard is precision machined from aircraft-grade aluminum and features a durable black anodized finish. Includes bedding pillars and mounting hardware, but does not include an AICS compatible magazine.

NOTE: Stock inletting is required for installation, this is NOT a drop in replacement for factory trigger guards.

Very Solid, Excellent Price

Installed in my 770P LTR w/HS Stock. Yes it took some work to get it in. Yes I had to remove some of the block, I filed a little at a time until I achieved the desired fit. I can understand the frustration of some of the other posters here but for me it was all about patience. It clearly states that it's not a drop in part. PTG can also refer you to a machine shop who will professionally install this part though I did this job myself. All that said, I think it came out great and is a waaayy cool upgrade. I'm using ACIS 10rd mag for .308. Side by side with another name brand, why on earth would I pay soo much more for comprable quality. I plan to buy this again and would recommend it to anyone who wants to upgrade their bolt gun to accept detachable magazines; you may, however, consider having it professionally installed if you feel the work required is beyond your skill level.

I have a Blackhawk Axiom ...

I have a Blackhawk Axiom stock for my Remmy 700 sps and installation was definitely a pain. The whole unit needs to sit alot deeper in the stock than the OEM Remmy trigger guard. Required significant dremel-ing of both plastic and metal to install. Now that that ordeal is over, my gun is everything I ever wanted. Bullets no longer fail to load, reloading is a snap... I regret nothing.

I have installed one before ordering this one. Minimal inletting is required but as said, it is not a drop-in fit and I don't know why some think it should/would be. I know of no AI mag compatible DBM that doesn't need some amount of inletting. This system is darn near the least amount of inletting required. Some are horrendous with the amount of labor, precision required to get it right and price. This product is none of those. Great bargain.The one Midway sent me looks to be a returned item but I careless for it will be cerakoted anyways. As always, great shipping, prices, and staff there at Midway. And thats the way it is.

Product seems just as advertised. I just installed in on my McMillan A5 and slipped in the newly purchased AICS 5 round mag. Fits perfect and is cycling rounds into my standard Remington SA700. Great for the price. I am very pleased. Thanks Midway and thanks Pacific tool and gauge.

MidwayUSA is great. That said right upfront, this triggerguard, together with the AICS magazines DO NOT fit. It is required that you not only cut out, file out, rout out, all the above..., from the stock. And then the magazines do not feed. You then need to cut metal from your rifle out as well. And there is no way I am going to do this. I don't think this magazines are standard AICS dimensions. AICS's are supposed to fit without cutting around in your rifle. I am looking to buy an AICS stock with mags and then will compare the magazines. I bet you, they are not the same. For the record, I own a Remington 700 tactical in 308 (short action) AAC 20" barrel with overmolded Hogue stock. Thanks for letting me try.

While this is a nicely crafted product it must be noted that this is in NO WAY a drop in modification. It should be done with professional tools. Also, the mag release comes unassembled and you must install the roll pin yourself, so you'll need to have the proper tools for that as well. The exterior dimensions are larger on all sides, so expect a lot of inletting.

Instead of just doing an ADL-to-BDL conversion for $120, I decided to give this a try when I got a new Bell and Carlson stock. Installation required some inletting, but just going a little at a time to get a perfect fit worked for me. It feeds great! I cut off the bottom magazine guide that sticks out to be flush with the stock and beveled the new "flush" magwell, so for $100 less I have essentially the same thing as the CDI mag conversion. It takes some love to install, but go a little at a time and it will work reliably.
