This extractor made a ...

This extractor made a huge difference in completely clearing empty shell casings from the breech before chambering the next round from the clip. It was flinging empty shell casings up to 8 feet! I went through about 500 rounds of ammo and only had three empty shell casings that didn't clear the breech. The only fitting I did was sand a small bur off the back end of the extractor. I did not touch the claw part of the extractor and would not recommend it either.

Even after purchase, I'm not entirely sold that this product is necessary.I purchased this product b/c I was having stovepiping issues fairly regularly (1/20rds). It was driving me crazy. When I replaced the factory extractor with this one, I found that the extractor was flinging the brass farther away (it holds a tighter grip to the rim of the case) BUT my FTE problem was still there.Here's WHY: The extractor doesn't actually extract the cases in a 10/22 after firing, it merely holds onto the case. The lip of the magazine and the ejector (the other metal piece that sticks up out of the trigger guard that's not your hammer) actually knocks the brass out of your receiver.In my overzealous fervor to tweak out my 10/22, I polished the top of the extractor and I think I just took off too much metal. My theory is that as the bolt moved back after firing, the ejector was just hitting the brass on the extractor wrong and the case would end up bouncing around inside the receiver instead of bouncing OUT of the receiver.The solution? I purchased a new Ruger ejector from MidwayUSA (actually two - one for a spare since they are quite cheap) and this problem has minimized itself.Lesson Learned? Think of how any of these aftermarket parts affects the whole system.

Best extractor product for 10/22's on the market. Easy to install and works like a charm. Drops into bolt easily and is less susceptable to grime stoppages than original. Get one today!

This part is much harder ...

This part is much harder than factory alloy extractor and is a bit oversized. At first when I installed this it had failures to feed. This was traced back to the sharp edges of the extractor. With a pillar file, I rounded off the bottom of the extractor, creating a bevel mimicking the factory one. After this it worked flawlessly. I guess all extractors have some bevel for the round to slide up and in. Look at the 1911 and the other pistols with external extractors (i.e. Glock, Sig, Hk, etc...) Overall great product. Some fitting is required!

Outstanding addition to my wife's Mark II Target. Required minor filing to remove the high spot most people have mentioned. Still took under 5 minutes to install. Two thumbs up!

Good sharp extractor but ...

Good sharp extractor but had mixed results. 1st one was flawless, 2nd had a TON of sharp burs and razor sharp edges. Had to take a sharpening stone and 1500 grit sand paper to if for about 15min to get it smoothed out to where it was not snagging in the receiver. Works great now but I expected better quality/ fit and finish.

Installed it and it held the shell's so tight they wouldn't chamber. Called the company and they said to trim off a loop or two. This didn't help. They said to send them the gun and they would look at it. Spend $50.00 for a $10.00 part? Threw it out and bought the other brand. Works fine.

I bought this item as part of a group of goodies for my 10-22. It performs flawlessly! Some guys don't read the product information. It clearly states that minor hand fitting may be needed. It took less than a minute to file the small burr on the back. Do a Google search and you can find lots of helpful tips to make your gunsmithing easier if you don't know how to do it already.

This extractor is a no brainer!! You get a titanium extractor for less than a Steel extractor. It is worth the money to replace this part. It was simple to drop in. If you replace the extractor pick up the Power Custom Competition Spring Kit and replace them all together.

Good product, but I had 2 issues. 1 Had to file a bur off the back with my sharpening stone, 2 Has a bit of side to side play in my bolt. Otherwise it functions great and works great!!!
