I use this on my M4. Received a little flak from fellow CQB shooters for not buying the Aimpoint sight that most other M4s use. I silenced all critics, though, once they saw my quick target acquisition and shot groupings. Plenty durable and holds zero well. Not the brightest dot if you're shooting in afternoon desert sun. Works extremely well if you add Butler Creek flip-up scope covers (12eye & 15obj). If using for tactical purposes there is no need to step up to a 40mm, the 30mm gives you both eyes open target acquisition. Will withstand rapid fire. My only complaint is that you can't use this sight for co-witnessing. It's "built on" mount is too low to co-witness on a flattop and adding a riser block locates the sight about 3/8" over the top of the front iron sight. This is only an issue for AR and M4 rifles. If you use a riser or a carry handle mount you'll love this sight. Pretty good battery life on this unit, I left it on accidentally when I put my rifle in it's case for 2 days. The dot was still lit just as bright as when I put it away. As a matter of fact, I'm still running on the same battery. For the price you can't beat the quality. If you don't like it (which I doubt), at least you didn't sink a whole paycheck into it.

This sight is what you would expect for the price. I use it on a flattop AR and it works decently, but I feel like I should get something better made. The red "dot" is an amoeba like blob when viewed indoors, although it looks more like a dot in sunlight. However, only the top two settings are bright enough to be visible in even mild sunlight. The mount is very cheesy and took many instances of shoot a few rounds and tighten again before it finally locked in place. This would be a good sight for a rimfire or airgun but is not so good when two or three boxes of ammo cost as much as the sight. However, it is my first red dot and has motivated me to buy a nicer red dot for regular use.

great red dot sight! very bright easy to zero and holds zero after 500 rounds of 7.62x39. plunking water bottles at 100 yards mounted to a soviet ak 47. highly recommend for the price.

I bought this for my AR as my first Red Dot Scope. Surprisingly, to me at least, this is the first Red Dot I have ever used. Initially I didn't like the shape of the dot but discovered that I needed glasses....That dot sharpened right up! Looks great. I also had electrical problems with mine after a couple of weeks. I do all of my own work so the problem wasn't difficult to repair. Just needed cleaning, dielectric grease and re-assembly. Well it works great now and I mounted it on a 10-22 I built. I liked the red dot concept so well I went with the Vortex Strikefire for the AR but that's another comment. I give it four stars due to QC but I think it's a great scope for the money. Hope this helps....

I have had this scope mounted on top of a Ruger 22/45 Pistol for several years and it worked flawlessly. I can write my name on the target at 25 yards. I switched it to a Bushmaster Carbon 15 today because the elevated rail doesn't allow you to cowitness with an Eotech. This was a perfect set up because it allowed me to cowitness and to look over the fixed rear sight to acquire the red dot as well. Very much like the low mounted aimpoint. It has been dependable for years and kept zero for over a 100 rounds that I put through the rifle today. The red dot worked well and was easy to see on a higher setting for a sunny day. I would highly recommend for anyone that has an elevated sight rail like the Carbon 15 M 4 or Rock River Arms elevated sight rail. It also worked perfectly on my Ruger 22/45 for years.

I had this sight for some time now, it was originally used on a 12 ga. for a turkey hunt. It has since been laying around a couple years in storage. I recently purchased a new RRA AR-15, it's a 20" varmint rifle that normally has a H.P. scope on it. I thought I would put this on to see if it would make a close range option. I was surprised that the original battery still has almost a full charge after sitting around.Anyway, I had to buy a riser for it as it sits to low on the flat top. I locked it down to the riser with loc-tight. then I can put it on and take it off easily to the AR and it will hold its zero good. I took it out to the 50yard range and at this distance the dot, which was set at 8 of 11 (very bright sunny day) was a bit more than barely visible (which you want) covered about 3" of the target, because of this I was not able to get any better than a 2" grouping for this other wise 3/4" moa at 100 yd rifle. But it worked great and did not fail at any time. In theory and my opinion, it should be good out to at least 200 yards on metal plate targets no problem. I have a new use for my old sight. Until I can buy something better, this one works very well.

I bought this for just simple shooting out of my AR15 300blk and I love the way it looks and feels. To offer a rebuttal to everyone else who complains of the dot moving that is what a red dot does if you don't place you head perfectly each time the dot will move.

I always wanted a red dot and after getting a Ruger 2245 two weeks ago the time was right. The Ruger came with a scope mount base and the install of the Red Dot was fast & easy, took a few magazines to sight it in but now at 25yds. Its tearing up the bulls eye!! I was also very pleased with the adjustable brightness it did a great job even in full sunlight. This was money well spent, my friend wants to get one for his pistol after trying out mine!!

I have had this item for about 4 years with no problems until now. Red dot dims out then returns even with a new battery. nothing last forever. Bought another to replace it. I hope I get 4 years out of the next one.

Installed on my Spikes AR-15 flat top. I shot 4 inch groups at 50 yards on an 8 inch target. The red dot is a little larger than I have seen on other red dot sights. But, does the job at 50 yards. Any farther than that might be a problem. It was a lot of fun. How do these things work? It is amazing how you can acquire the target so quickly. It was very easy to sight in. I shot 60 rounds and the sight held zero.

Mounted and sited in with ease. This for the price is one of the best improvements for my 10/22. I have over 600 rounds with this sight and it has held its zero. Will definitely purchase another one. This is a must for small game and plinking. Midways service and shipping is top notch.

Installed on Ruger 10/22. Works great, but to use during the day you need high power setting, which in turn widens the dot. Mine is more like 10MOA on the bright setting-- covers about 5 inches at 50 yds.
