DPMS front sight

A very sturdy sight made of steel which worked perfectly with my Yankee Hill folding rear. Height was right on with gas block on my DPMS LR-308, just needed a few clicks windage and rifle was dead on at 50 yds. Couldnt be happier with this product and Midway had it at my door in 2 days. Thanks Larry!

This front sight, mounted ...

This front sight, mounted on the gasblock, also came with my DPMS LR-308 in 2009. I have since then replaced the post with a DPMS NM .05 round post. Its zeroed at 100 yards to hit 2" high and has not lost zero since then. I use only iron sights for this rifle and these are tough enough for moderate abuse. I dont plan on driving over them with a truck or dropping them from a 2 story building. Just wanted to try out fitting it with an EOTech, this front sight does not get in the way of the optic's effectiveness. No time is lost as the sight is always ready. The single mounting nut has not wiggled loose. Still, I have it reference marked. Some reviewers say its 'heavy', I call it 'tactically and durably efficient'. It has served me well for years placing .308 rounds where I want them.

Both this front sight and the matching DPMS rear sight are VERY HEAVY compared to most of the competition. This front sight is for mounting to a GAS BLOCK RAIL it is not for mounting to a tactical rail handguard! The matching read sight does not mount far enough rearward to look "correct". Although these are priced reasonably, and I generally like DPMS components, due to weight and the way the rear is pushed forward on the receiver I would not purchase these again.

Good solid mount. I have this mounted on my DPMS Oracle kit also purchased here. Wouldn't be surprised if this thing is bulletproof! Add some LocTite to the threads just in case.

This product easily attached to a Weaver-style base and was very steady. It did not come loose even after extended shooting periods. I did not have to sight-in my firearms because the sight fit flush and accurately from the very beginning.

I like this sight. It's extremely solid and I don't think it will work loose. My only criticism is that it is *heavy*. Notice that it is steel. I think they could have milled away quite a bit of it without compromising the practical strength.
