Designed for hunting with today's high performance muzzleloaders, these sabots feature the popular Hornady XTP jacketed hollow point bullet. This bullet is intended for black powder muzzle loading rifle use. It has a .50 caliber sabot which falls away when the bullet leaves the muzzle.

I used these for years, and I always found them to group pretty well. Performance on deer has always been fair at best. If they didn't fall right there then finding them was always a chore, even with a good shot. No blood and few exit holes. Matter of fact I can only think of one deer out of 8 that had an exit. I have been out of the black powder game for quite a while, and I will be starting again this year. I am not using these bullets.

When I first purchased my Knight disc (original) the dealer suggested these with Pyrodex 2 50/50 pellets per load. The rifle shot 4 inch groups at 100 yards consistently. I then switched 2 Powerbelts and tried 2 varieties. The best group was 7 inches at 100 yards. Even though the sabots are a little more to contend with they shot much more accurately out of my rifle and I will be going back to these trusted Sabots. Not to mention they are easier on the wallet.

These will not shoot accurately out of my Encore ML. I could barely keep them on the target at 50 yards. Loading was almost impossible too. I shot powerbelts the same day and was shooting 1.5" groups @ 100 yards, plus loading was much much easier.

Recently used these bullets for sighting in. These were producing outstanding groups at 100 yards. Sabots being used were harvester crushed rib. This bullet and sabot combo was easy to load in a NEF Sidekick muzzleloader. The recovered bullets did expand to 1.5x the original size. Powder being used was blackhorn 209.

I have always used hornady bullets and will continue to for my rifles and pistols, but I could not get a good group with these. I used a different brand of bullet, same weight and same charge, on the same day and I got 1.5" group.

Have killed 5 deer including a large 10 point whitetail. None have gone more than 30 yards. Can hit a paper plate at 100 yards all day with an original Knight Disc muzzle loader that was abused and barrel has many imperfections. Accuracy and perfect terminal performance makes it a no brainer.

Extremely consistent performance out of my Knight Revolution. Shooting sub 2" groups at 100 yds from a rest with 777 powder. Took one deer this year and the bullet left about a 4" hole on exit. Originally bought 4 different bullets to try, but no need to now, with this kind of performance. Good luck.

Bought these to use in my Traditions DeerHunter Flintlock. Shot a buck at 85 yards and couldnt be happier! I do believe that if I would have been using round balls I would not have had such a good blood trail and wouldn't have recovered the deer. I would recommend these sabots to anybody.

This was my first season to use this bullet. I shot a doe this afternoon with it from a Remington 700ML with Pyrodex pushing it. The deer was marked at a 133 yards and this bullet shot point of aim and dropped her in her steps leaving an impressive exit wound. This is definitely the bullet I will use from now on. Highly recommended.
