These anti-walk pins replace original hammer and trigger pins and are retained by special retaining rings for a positive lock. 2 pins and clips per set. Fits small pin lowers (.154").

Pins are .154" diameter, and 1.05" long

Notes:

These pins replace the original hammer and trigger pins.

The pins extend past the receiver on each side and are retained by special retaining rings for a more positive lock.

AR-15 Hammer and Trigger Pin Dimensions:

Some Colt® AR type rifles have been manufactured with hammer and trigger pins and holes which are approximately .176" in diameter. These are referrend to as "large pin" Colts. This was done to eliminate the chances of someone putting M16 fire control parts into an AR receiver. This is not found in all Colt models, just some.

All other AR type rifle manufacturers have stayed with the .156" diameter hammer and trigger pins and holes, or "small pin" which is the same spec used in all military M16 rifles.

Others have stated that these are too long...Is this true, yes they are too long. By how far are they too long, less than 1/10th of an inch...Will this be troublesome to some people? Yes. Does it bother me? No. I had to put these in my lower I was shooting my 50 Beowulf on b/c the hammer was missing the piece that kept it centered on the original pin. When the pin would walk, the hammer would slip...These pins fixed that. Are they a little long?....Yes. Do they do what they are desinged to do?...Yes....

Works... a bit too long as they have room move back and forth. Even in my DPMS lower. Maybe snag on a glove or clothing?? But no more tapping the trigger pin back into lower after shooting. Happy enough I guess.

These pins do exactly what they are supposed to do and the length is in the product description. I don't see anything to complain about. On my dpms lower they leave a 1/16 inch gap between the clip and the lower. Not all lowers are the same width so they did this so they will fit any lower.

Pins work great but ...

Pins work great but require a washer on some lowers. I use them because they allow me to place the spring legs on level rather then one up and one down to retain the stock pins. This greatly improves the feel of the standard trigger pull.

Works great, only reason it gets 4 instead of 5 is the gap but it doesn't really bother me, also wish they made them out of stainless like the kns pins but that would add to price...

I guess if I had read the reviews thoroughly I would have seen the comments that these are too long. They are. However, I purchased these for a bit of moron mitigation. I had installed a Timney 3 # trigger in one of my lowers with the idea that I would move the trigger from gun to gun depending on which one was in the need to be cleaned rack. I therefore did not apply Loctite nor install the jam screws in the Timney and I lost a pin. I then concluded that I could simply move the upper of the week to the lower with the Timney. I installed the Timney with these pins and Loctite on the Timney set screws. I placed a 1/16" nylon washer under the E clip on each pin and at least they look like they are supposed to be so long.

Does what is stated. I thought it might fit my DPMS lower better than it does, seems about 3/32" too long. As soon as I find a tiny washer I will be happy. Makes my weapon reliable.

These pins work EXACTLY as advertised. Not all receivers are the same width, so it stands to reason that they would stick out further on some than others. If you are reviewing something that plainly shows c-clips as part of the assembly and you think that is a negative aspect since you might lose them, then why did you buy them in the first place? I installed these in two DPMS lowers, and they fit and function perfectly. They do not stick out excessively on either of them. As for them looking tacky.......if you say so, but I could care less as long as they keep the pins from walking out.

For a cheap fix to ...

For a cheap fix to walking pins these will do the job. Yes, the Pins stick out, but not as bad as I had read. the main problems I see are either cutting you finger in the keeper clip, or losing the keeper clip. The Pins could be shortened by, 0.066, of an inch (or 1.68mm) this would allow for them to sit flatter then current and less risk of cuts by the clip and loss of the clip. This is something for manufacture to do as having the them re-cut by a local machine shop would cost more then the pin set. Simple work around is to buy rubber O-rings or a small flat washer. The rubber o-rings allow for you to get the clip locked on and then sit flush on the receiver. For a cheap fix to walking pins these will do the job..but would prefer to see them offered in a shorter style to avoid having to use the above work around.

The pins are fine and do the job well. Receivers vary in width. I have billet receivers that are almost too wide for these pins. When you make a pin for this type of application it is necessary to take into account differing design and manufacturing tolerances. This is the only way to make "one size fits all". You are purchasing a "generic part", not one that is specifically designed for one's manufacturer-specific receiver.

These pins are too long, but will work as a backup when I get some shorter ones. Easy to install. Small needle nose pliers do the trick. Less than 30 seconds to install.
