This is a really cheap piece of equipment. Fell apart the first time it was used. Midway gets three strikes. Why would they sell something this bad? It's a puzzlement to me.

For the money this ...

For the money this magnifying headband cant be beat. If you look at the short comings and know how to fix them. The one I used had lenses that wouldnt stay up and would fall down a little further than I liked. To remedy this I simply hammered the rivets a little tighter, problem solved. The lens in this are not bad you have to be close to your work for them to work right. If you are looking for a decent magnifying system that wont break the bank try this one.

Optics aren't bad. Only ...

Optics aren't bad. Only real squawk I have is that the rivets that the lens hood pivots on the headband are too loose. I haven't put batteries in the lights as yet, but as it came there would have been no way the lens hood would have stayed in position. I did take some vise grips to the rivets and the lens hood is better behaved now. Had I had to try it out before I bought it I probably would not have bought it.

As stated in previous reviews the optics are decent enough for a low cost magnifier that utilizes plastic lenses. The bad part of this headband is the lighting system is pure junk. The battery covers easily fall off, the batteries will not snap into place adequately due to poor soldering workmanship and the lights cannot be aimed adequately to a common point. I quickly replaced the lighting units with a couple LED units I found on an illuminating safety eyeglasses combo. Much better but irritating that I had to do so.

Good for the money. The ...

Good for the money. The lenses really bring the work in close, and I have had no issues with them. (that little one on the outside may need some thread locker to get it to stay out of the way when not wanted) The optics are fine enough to do checkering and detail, but the headband is somewhat uncomfortable. I put a liner in it which stabilized it on the head, and made it less affected by sweat on the brow. The lighting units are NOT well-made. One side had a short-circuit, somewhere, and though the light was dimly lit, the unit got so hot I thought it would melt. (these are not complex electronics, people) Other sides beam did not line up with the lenses, so was of little use.

Well worth the price of ...

Well worth the price of admission. The lenses may be plastic but the clarity of magnification is top notch. Three lens combinations go from reading fine print to seeing the dirt in the grooves of your finger print. The light system is a little cheesy but works. As for the overall quality, plastic with some metal and an adjustable head band that WORKS well. I keep them in the living room as I always seem to find need of them. A very good value.

Great value for the ...

Great value for the money. The magnifier works very well and who cares about the lights? It's $15! If you're doing 'fine checkering', I don't think you'll be using a $15 magnifier or be wearing it for hours at a time. I think they're perfect for the gun owner at home.
