Product Information

The LaserLyte Laser Training System will save you money on ammunition and gas spent driving to and from your local range. This unique system is designed to fit all rifles and handguns from 22 to 50 caliber that have at least a 3" barrel. The laser system can be used practically anywhere. It simply shoots the laser downrange and shows you immediately where it hits on the target. The laser is sound activated and will flash momentarily when you dry-fire your firearm. Included in the Laser Training System are batteries, laser, four adjustable adapters for different calibers and instructions for use. Powered by three 377 silver oxide batteries.

This trainer works great! I got it for my wife to practice with as she is new to handguns. It has made all the difference in her accuracy. I have paid for it in one weekend just in ammo savings. Also, not thought of at the time, we can use it in the house ANYTIME, without the hassle of safety glasses or hearing protection. And you get instant feedback. I have a very long open floor plan and can set up a target at 50 feet. Using this with Snap Caps has given my family an excellent way to get used to the handgun in a harmless, safe manner. It comes with a highly reflective laser target that I am going to mount on a tree out in my yard, now. We can plink it through our picture window on these cold days.The instructions are a bit weak on how to set it up, but that really didn't slow me down much. I have used it all weekend, and the batteries are going strong. Also, not mentioned in the description, there is a "constant on" mode just to use as a bore-sighter. The one thing I wish it had was a way to adjust the sensitivity. Every metallic sound the gun makes, "fires" the laser. Pay attention to your barrel length. It is too long for short handguns. It won't fit my KelTec p11 -- that is without an electrical tape "bushing" I put on it to center it in the barrel. Finally, a little trick: when you put the proper plastic adapter on the tip to fit your barrel, adjust it so it just snugly slides into the barrel. Then, turn the whole laser clockwise slightly to give it that final snug set. This will securely tighten and center it in the barrel. Most importantly, it won't come loose and fall out when you lower your gun. (Did that!)

This is ostensibly a quite interesting product. However, in Training Mode (with the batteries in the brass case), make absolutely certain the batteries are COMPLETELY removed from the brass case each and every time this device is used, or they will continue to drain power, and the batteries will last only several days. In my opinion, this represents a serious design flaw, at the very least a major inconvenience, and a decision representatives of the company inexplicably verbally stand behind 100%. The individual purchaser will need to decide if complete installation, as well as complete removal after use, of the batteries (small and easily lost or misplaced, and each fairly expensive) is worth the effort.

This is a bad training product. It kind of worked the first time I used it, but the trigger reset on my pistol would set it off. Pretty much anything sound from the gun will set it off. I released the safety bang a dot on the target. Bump the mag bang a dot on the target. The second time I tried to use it, it wouldn't work at all (I took the batteries out after using it). I replaced the batteries with brand new ones still no luck. The only good thing about this is it makes a really good boresighter.

Great product Have 4 guns with lasers using the bore laser enabled me to find 2 guns that the iron sights were off. I was able to zero in all 4 guns in a few minutes. buy it

UPDATE: The folks at Laserlyte granted a return authorization for my defective unit and shipped out a replacement promptly with spare batteries. They are a stand-up company and I am changing my review to 5 stars.

Used this item twice and batteries quickly discharged. Extra batteries included did not fit. Found a supplier and ordered 8 sets of spares only to find the unit no longer works. Very disappointed.

At this point, I cannot say much about it. It appears to be a well-crafted device. My word of caution is the ad reads "batteries included." Do not assume that they are good batteries. The ones included with my Laserlyte were dead, but the batteries were included! So be prepared to buy three new G13A batteries for another $10 to $12. It was disappointing to say the least.

Will not work with 3" Barrel. I have a S&W Sigma 40 cal (Sw 40VE, 4"). With a snap cap in the chamber LT1 is 1/2 inch too long.

Could not get trigger sound activated "sound pill' to work at all. Constant on works OK. I followed the instructions and I'm not technically challenged.Not impressed at all by quality control.

The first few times it was used it worked quite well. Had this for some time and have been trying to find batteries for it. The batteries have such a short life you need your own stash. Some pistols require use of a dummy round and if that is the case, a 3" barrel will not be useful with this product. I will be talking to Midway about a return. Generally that has not been a past problem. Like Midway & have bought much from them, this product just falls way short.

Overall this is a great product and I would recommend it. That said, it is important to read the directions carefully. I concur with all the other reviewers in that the tiny button batteries are a bit annoying in that you must remove them after each use or they will go dead before your next practice session. This particular unit extends out the barrel far enough to make it difficult or impossible to practice drawing from a holster, but despite that one limitation, it's a great tool for dry practice at home giving a nice visual feedback on your shot placement.
