This is a strong, dependable mounting system that is very useful when building MOA in to a long range rifle. I have one on a Savage and one on a Winchester and when combined with the Burris Signature rings this easily extends your capabilities up to and past 1000 yards. I will have them on all my LR rifles.

I use this Base on 2 bolt action rifles: 300 winchester and 300 Weatherby with Leupold scopes and 1" Leupold standard rings. The Leopold mounting systems have worked with these guns for 20+ years and counting.

Poor design in several ...

Poor design in several areas. Firstly the windage adjustment screws should have been torx. I hate non standard bolt heads as much as the next guy, but it needs something stronger than the slotted screwdriver style here. It strips out, especially with the convex shave (where the point of contact of a screwdriver hits the shallow (weakest) part. Also the recoil of my .338 ultra made this part of the mechanism fail (there is no max recoil listed on the product, so why did it fail?). It held zero through one box of shells or so then went bad.

Love this mount. It's rock solid. I mounted this on my Weatherby Vanguard 25-06, and my old Tasco scope keeps my shots on target out to 300 yards. I also put one on my Mauser 98, and it really tightened up my groups.
