The Lee Loader for my Marlin 30-30 was my introduction to reloading. This system works very well, and isn't complicated to use. I've shot several under 1" groups ( 100 yds. ) using this system, which I've never been able to duplicate with my RCBS dies.

Works great in theory, ...

Works great in theory, but not really in practice when you're using a lever gun. The loader only neck-sizes the brass, and that's not good enough for it to chamber in my lever action. 30-30 brass needs a full length resize every time for proper function in a lever gun. It's not the loader's fault, but if you're new to reloading and you've got a lever gun, you still need to know the score. It is a quality product, it does produce consistent results and I would buy it again, but not for this caliber. 30-30 is its own thing.

I've been reloading for years and it's a labor of love but I bought this when it was on sale and I absolutely love it. I had my reservations but this kit puts out quality ammo and it's just plain fun and can be done anywhere. I'm no longer chained to a bench and gives me something to do at camp. I'm sold on this kit and I want more calibers. Way to go Lee.

I bought this loader from Midway in my first journey in reloading. I got around to using it. Took a while to get fired cases into the die, but after a few tries it works smoothly and with little hammering involved. Adjusting the seating depth is a bit tricky, but inserting a live round in the die and adjusting accordingly helped. I was amazed at the accuracy of the rounds. I used starting loads of IMR 3031 and recoil is soft and accuracy pleasant. Cycling is quick as well. I am a bit disturbed by the minor differences in overall case length, but 1 inch at 50 yards with irons is nothing to sneeze at. Enjoy.

Could not seat the ...

Could not seat the bullets without deforming the case mouth, so ended up using the Lee Universal Case Expanding Die to put a tiny flare in the mouth, then the bullets would seat. Also, I used a Lee hand press and factory crimp die, because 30-30 needs this crimp to shoot safely in a tubular feed. Also used the Lee case sizer/trimmer because the cases do expand, and used a Hornady debur/chamfer tool to smooth the cut edges. After a lot of experimenting, finally got some good rounds.

Have you forgotten that reloading IS FUN. Try one of these Lee Loaders. When rounds per hour doesn't matter, try one. You'll be amazed at the accuracy of the ammo made with it. Don't be surprised, but a rubber hammer cost more than this kit.

This is a fantastic little kit. I use it in conjunction with a Lee auto prime and a touch of Redding case lube (just in the throat of the case to ease bullet seating) and the system works incredibly well. I have the dies for my Lee press as well but I really prefer using this little kit. I can reload about 40 rounds an hour and they are very consistent.
