I have six of these ...

I have six of these magazines and they all work perfect. Not sure how or why the others have had problems with the bottom breaking. I shoot the CMP Rimfire Sporter Matches, to include the match at Camp Perry, and run about 8000 rounds through these magazines a year. I have had no problems what so ever. With the amount of shooting I do, they do need cleaning once in a while, but other than that, they work perfect!

The floor plate on one of ...

The floor plate on one of my TC Classic magazines also broke during my first shooting session with it. I contacted TC and they sent me a new one. It seems to me that TC should begin making the floor plates to these magazines out of a different material.

I'll also criticize the ...

I'll also criticize the plastic floorplate. Mine cracked from normal usage very soon after new. I emailed Thompson about the problem and was sent another floorplate at no charge. I do, however, like the fact that the magazine itself is steel. You need to clean it and use it with care or it'll bust. Kind of surprises me for Thompson.

The floor plate of the ...

The floor plate of the magazine is made of a kind of plastic material that easily splits while the gun is in normal use. The pressure of the spring itself causes this to happen. The slide on part of the plate opens and as a result; plate, spring and bullets will fly all over the map. A flaw in design makes this otherwise nice gun unreliable in the field.
