Featuring the same machined bolt handle as their custom bolt assemblies, this Extended Bolt Handle is .25" longer than the factory bolt handle for a secure and comfortable grip. Recoil rod and rod spring are included. Recoil rod is polished and coated with Titanium Nitride for it's hardness and self-lubricating properties. Spring is cryogenically treated for long life.

I am a bit dissappointed in this product. The first one I received was amost impossible to install as the the recoil spring guide rod was too long. Also, the finish edges on the square portion of the bolt handle were sharper and somewhat oversized...they actually abraded and scored the finish inside of my receiver and made it hard to cock. I ordered a replacemant. The replacemetnt was also a tight fit and a little rough running but after I stoned the edges a bit, it is smoother in operation. I do like the more comfortable oversized round handle which is why I bought it but I do wish it was smoother in operation. Maybe Ruger changed some tolerances in their newer receivers and caught Volquartsen unaware. I have liked other products from them such as their aftermarket trigger kits.

It took a bit of light filing before it would drop in to the bolt, but after that, it worked fine. I wish the handle were about 1/4" longer though.

I have used Volquartsen products in the past and have been fairly pleased with the results. I decided to purchase this product for my target 10/22 that I've been building. The part installed quite easily but would not slide along the guide rod properly. Even when I placed the bolt back into the gun it was as if the gun was cycling with a bunch of sand in it. I had to place the old bolt handle back in, and then it functioned flawlessly.... just wish it had worked the way people were saying it did...

I was disappointed with this Bolt Handle. The guide rod was too long for the factory receiver. I had to grind it down to get it to fit. The square recess in the bolt handle was too wide for the bolt and scratched the top of the ejection port when I tried to cycle the action by hand. It wouldn't even cycle completely. I would buy something else. I threw mine away. What a waste. I am using the stock bolt handle and all is well. I have a Volquartsen trigger group and it works perfectly.

I was extremely disappointed in this Bolt Handle and Recoil Spring! First - it didn't fit - the guide rod was far too long for the factory receiver. Second - it was to wide for the receiver and subsequently scored the inside rail of the bolt carrier channel! Third - the finish is not that great - still has tool marks from the lathe because they removed material too fast and didn't polish it enough. Fourth - the guide rod is not stiff enough. Since returning the item takes time and money I decided to fine tune the fit. Cutting the size of the guide rod is easy enough but contouring the width of the assembly to fit the receiver channel is way to much hassel but possible. Buy another product.

After reading the reviews I decided to try this product, I have always liked volquartsen products. I have them on many guns, however they missed on this . It rubbed the receiver, I should have sent it back but decided to sand it to fit, it moves free but jams all the time. The rod is soft metal and makes it stick. Buy a Superior Concepts Inc. like Magnum Research uses. Works excellent!

I like this product very much! it was just a little longer than the stock piece is why I only gave it 4 stars. nothing that a small amount of filing didn't take care of, much easier to use than stock with a scope mounted.

I have large hands and the extra 1/4" in length and the feel of the handle is a definite improvement over the stock Ruger handle. Have put over 400 rounds (mostly cheap bulk, but some target, and some hypervelocity as well) through it since installing this handle with no feeding problems. This product makes retracting the bolt easier with a low mounted scope. Also have Volquartsen's target hammer/auto bolt release and recoil buffer pin installed, which I highly recommend.

I originally ordered this for my son's Charger but he still had trouble cocking it when the hammer was down (he's 8). So I put my Power Custom model in his Charger and dropped this one in my Ultimate 10/22. Once at the range, I noticed that the groups seem to be much tighter than before. At first, I didn't like the fact that it was a captured spring and I couldn't get to the guide rod to further polish it. A little Dremel time on the part that is peened to keep it one piece and now I can and have polished it more. It is much smaller and lighter than the Power Custom and I suspect that I might be able to shoot standard velocity target loads now where the PC part would give me some stovepipes. It was a true drop in fit and works well.

The finish on the handle I received wasn't as "shiny" as the picture made it seem. It's more of a matte silver finish. Other than that I'm very happy with this product. It installed without a problem and my 10/22 is now a pleasure to shoot. Thanks Midway!

Top notch product. It makes pulling the bolt back a lot easier! The machining of the handle is also top notch and looks nice, not to mention it's easier to get a hold of.
