I have had one of these sights mounted on a Ruger 44 mag for the last three years. It has worked perfectly in all kinds of weather. Rain, snow, -30 below, this site has never failed in any way. I shoot nothing but heavy bullets, (300 grains and up) and the sight has remained zeroed without any readjustment since day one. Even when I dropped it from my four wheeler at 20 MPH! It also remains zeroed while switching between dot sizes. Battery life has been great. I make it a point to try and change it every year but I have yet to have one go bad. If your thinking of a red dot sight for your gun. I would get the adjustable dot size over the non adjustable. The ability to use smaller dots at greater ranges really helps accuracy a lot.

After this sight did so well on the first two trips to the range, on the third trip it would not hold zero. In low light this dot sight would be excelent for hunting. This sight might be useful on a low recoil rifle, otherwise it does not seem to hold up to the recoil. My thanks to Midway for exchanging this sight for a Leupold.

This red dot is very versatile , I have put it on 5 different guns.The ability to change dot size is GREAT. I use the 10 MOA for steel challenge type matches all other size dots according to distance.Try one, you will be happy.

I bought this and a Tasco ...

I bought this and a Tasco PDP3 at the same time for 2 different .22 LR pistols. I cannot tell any real difference between this and the Tasco in terms of dot clarity, brightness or optical quality. The difference this has the adjustable dot sizes. This sight has about 1000 rounds of .22 LR on a Beretta NEOS pistol with no problems. Battery life has been great and is still using original battery. I have not tested on paper targets to see if POI changes with dot change size so cannot comment on that. I can say that the POI is GENERALLY about the same between dot sizes during general plinking. This is a good value and would definitely buy again.

This scope failed after 20 rounds of .22lr from a Ruger MK3. The red dot is no longer visible and a lens is loose inside the tube.

I mounted one of these on a recent tactical shotgun build I did based on a Remington 870 .20 gauge. I have had no problems with it holding zero, using slugs. Take note: I'm using a Mako GL-Shock Recoil Reducing AR Stock on a mil-spec PWS Enhanced Buffer Tube, so I can only comment on how well it handles high recoil with that particular recoil reducing setup in place. It took about 7 rounds to get it dialed in and I was able to get a tight shot group. It has been consistent since. The different dot sizes are great and very useful. Out in bright sunlight you need to have it cranked up on the higher settings, but I was able to see the 5 MOA dot just fine in bright sunlight with the brightness setting on 10 and 11. After sighting it in, I did some tactical drills and it performed great--using the 8 and 10 MOA dots made for really quick time on target, especially when burning through 8 rounds in rapid fire. The only negative issue I find is with regards to the screws on the mounts--the hex key stripped them at just the point of getting enough torque on them. The metal on the screws is apparently very soft. I also have it mounted on a Pro Mag riser that sits on top of an Aimtech railed mount and overall it sits just a tad higher than I would like. A set of Burris Extreme Tactical high 30mm mounts should solve the height issue and allow me to eliminate the riser while putting an end to easily stripped screw heads. Overall, I love the sight and gave it 5 stars in spite of the screws. I intend to purchase another very soon.

Changing the MOA dot size ...

Changing the MOA dot size yields different POI's. At 100 yards the 5MOA dot impacts were always 4 inches lower and about 2 inches to the right compared to the 3MOA impacts. These results were repeatable multiple times after switching back and forth. Also not very bright on a really sunny day, but it will work. Glass has a very blue tint to it.

I picked up this sight for my .44 mag revolver. After a session shooing 60 heavy reloads the sight is still zeroed. I really like the adjustable dot size.The mount was missing a screw though.

I purchased this to be used on my S&W M&P 15-22, which is a .22LR caliber AR-15 variant. After using this for several months, I have found that this red dot, is basically useless unless the shooting background is in extremely low light or near dusk. In high sunlight, the dot is not even visible on its largest setting, which renders the optic worthless. I have also noticed that it does not want to hold a true zero after many shots. This has been verified on numerous occasions by benchrest shooting at the standard 100 meter target. Initially, I thought I could save some money, since the rifle to be used is a trainer and not one for actual combat or personal defense. I should have bought an expensive high end mil-spec optic. I guess the age old saying of "buy once and cry once" is true. No more Asian made junk for me.

Really good red dot for the price. Just recently got an AR with a flat top and really wanted an aimpoint but couldn't talk myself into the price. This seems to be a good investment so far. I would of given it a 5 star rating but it only comes with a weaver style mount and the dot isn't as crisp as I would like. The dot intensity and and size changes are a nice feature too. Overall it's good for the price. Hope this helps.
