Product Information

The Pentax Gameseeker Reflex Red Dot Sight features a 5 MOA dot with 11 different illumination settings to adapt to changing shooting situations. A built-in Weaver-style mount makes it easy to mount to your rifle, shotgun or handgun. The Gameseeker is parallax free for accurate target acquisition. Power supply is a single CR2032 3V battery.

My hunting buddy and I each bought one of these. He mounted his on a 12 ga. Mossberg set up for coyote hunting. The sight literally self-destructed within 3 shots. The lenses fell out and the battery cover popped off. Thinking it was just one of those "freak incidents," he returned it to the store for another. That one fell apart on the 2nd shot. He returned it for a full refund. I mounted mine on a DPMS AR-15. The sight came apart on the very first shot: Lenses slipped in the housing, the red dot became a vertical red line, the battery cover shook loose and fell off - all on the very first shot. We've heard from 2 others with similar experiences. It's hard to believe Pentax would jeopardize their outstanding reputation by putting their name on such an obviously flawed product. I plan to write them to tell them how disappointed we are. I'm reluctant to ever purchase another Pentax product.

Bought 2. I like the ...

Bought 2. I like the sight but to change the point of impact sight must be turned opposite of the horz marked on sight. The battery that came with the sight (for both sights) was either dead or almost dead. Before I changed the battery on one sight the red dot would disappear when gun was fired. Recommendation - change battery before first use. I only use this sight on 22 LR rifles and pistols. Pentax needs to refine this sight. I like Pentax scopes.

Mounted it on my su-16c. ...

Mounted it on my su-16c. Had no problem at all with it. fired 100 rounds it maintained zero. The dot is very bright even in sunlight. Great product.

Same experience as ...

Same experience as others. I put it on a 12ga and the lens popped out on the first shot. Sent it back to Pentax, they fixed it (or sent a new one) and two or so shots out of an AR and the lens came out again. I guess I will glue it together myself this time and use it on a .22lr.

4 shots with 2 3/4" slugs ...

4 shots with 2 3/4" slugs and the lens fell out. Was hitting the same spot on the first two shots. Adjusted it some and the point of impact moved with the adjustment. Then the lens fell out on #4.

I bought this item ...

I bought this item because I have had good luck with Pentax products before. This item fell apart after less than 50 rounds, it was mounted on an AK47 with Tapco intrafuse rails. After I loaded a third magazine I realized that the dot was missing. I turned it off and on I soon discovered that the lens was missing; I found it on the floor.

My experience with this ...

My experience with this product was very disappointing. I mounted it on a Ruger 10/22. On my first trip to the range, the battery cover vibrated loose 4 or 5 times; it appears that the threads are so fine that the cover was cross-threading and not seating properly. I finally got that fixed. The windage and elevation adjustments are continuous and suspiciously light when adjusting. As a result, I had to fuss over getting the gun sighted in at 25 yards. The direction of adjustment is backwards based on what I am accustomed to with scopes: the directions on this sight move the dot, not the point of impact. Worst of all, after about 150-200 rounds, the dot started jumping around on almost every shot, upon recoil, changing the point of impact by up to 6-8 inches at 25 yards. Maybe I got a bad one, but what I experienced is categorically unacceptable.
