Product Information

Great for training and practice, this 22 LR conversion kit allows inexpensive target shooting through your favorite firearm. Shoots and functions like the regular AR-15, except the bolt doesn't remain locked open after the last shot, with no significant change in weight and balance. Assembly is incredibly simple and only requires replacement of the original bolt carrier. No permanent modifications are required for use. Includes three 26-Rnd magazines for more shooting fun and less time spent reloading. Stainless steel construction offers the benefits of easier cleaning and greater corrosion resistance. For Semi-auto AR-15's only, will not work for M-16's.

Note: Rimfire conversion kits are NOT compatible with gas piston equipped AR-15's. The piston will not allow conversion to fit in the receiver.

Great Product!! Using in my Bushmaster AR15 223. Although be careful when cutting or grinding down the magazine tabs for a perfect fit, do a little at a time and test.

I have been using this product for a year now and probably have put about 800 rds through it. While I still really like it, I have found it does not like some types of ammo. It will fire any type of ammo for about the first 50 rds it seems, but once the chamber gets a little dirty, the REM Golden Bullet and Thunderbolt will start experiencing FTF. I think it is due to the bullets on these being more of a blunt round nose. However, I have had great luck with WIN Xpert22 and WIN WildCat22. I can put hundreds of these through it without any issues. Looking at these they start tapering to a point much earlier so they don't bind while sliding in. I would like to still give it 5 stars but have given it 4 this time because it should be a little more tolerant of ammo type I think. Hope this helps and have fun shooting!

Excellent product. Installation is very straight forward. The one I was shipped worked flawlessly with bulk Federal High Velocity (550 box). If you intend on using this kit with CMMG Bolt Hold Open Actuator for 22 Long Rifle Conversions AR-15 Polymer, you should note that the followers supplied in these magazines do not allow full functionality with the actuator. The bolt will lock open for inspection; however, the bolt will release when you remove the magazine. Had I realized that when I purchased this kit, I would also have ordered the correct followers and springs (upgrade).Accuracy is what I expected for a smooth bore chamber leading up to a 1/7 twist barrel. Allows for tactical accuracy out to approximately 50 yards, but don't expect to be able to shoot bench-rest. Very good for training without the expense of a dedicated upper or weapon and associated cost of sights.Fired approximately 500 rounds when it arrived (couldn't help myself) with no malfunctions. Wish I could say that about my 10/22.

Great Product. Installation is a no brainer. Works flawlessly w/ 36 grain Federal 550 Bulk ammunition. Accuracy was good considering that I was firing out of a 1/7 twist barrel. Expect to be able to shoot drink cans at 50 yards. Beyond that, the rounds start spreading out. Plan on getting rid of my folding stock 10/22. I purchased with the BOLT HOLD OPEN ADAPTER, product number 866746. Great addition, but the magazine followers provided with this kit do not allow for full functionality. Took me a couple minutes to figure it out, but if you intend to buy the BHOA, you will need to also buy the correct magazine follower kit. Wish I would have known when I made the order. Would have bought them. This product allows the bolt to remain open after the last round, but the magazine follower does not engage the bolt catch. The bolt will close when you remove the magazine. If you want to have a blast with an AR-15 and not spend a fortune on ammo, this kit does a wonderful job. Did I mention, no malfunctions.

Purchased unit and 3 additional magazines for less than the cost of 750 rounds of 5.56. Broke unit in according to CMMG instructions for approx 200 rds of various ammo and experienced 2 stopages for Win 37gr hp, no stopages for Win 40gr solid, no stopages for CCI Velocitor and about 50% stopages with Remington Thunderbolt.Just finished 1000 rds of Win 36gr hp with 4 total stopages by FTE with cleaning every 500 rds. No more carbon or fouling than any other .22 semi-auto. Accuracy was minute of squirrel/coke can out to 50 yds but at that point the faster stuff was really opening up (possibly the 1/9 5.56 rifling vs the standard 1/14 rifling of most .22 rimfires. I absolutely WILL own one of these (at least) for my ar's and am planning to give at least one as a gift this summer for a birthday. Bottom line: Oil sufficiently during the 200 rd break-in, stick to cheap Winchester stuff for plinking and buy puhhhlenty of magazines. I need at least 6 more now so I can spend time shooting and not reloading.

when I first received my kit I had to sand down part of the magazine to make it fit in mag well (as directed in the instructions taped to the magazine) not very hard at all. I shot about 200 rounds only 1 fail to eject very pleased with this product
