I set this up once, and mounted a scope on my level-action rifle. It worked like a charm.The second time I tried to set it up, any and every contact with the chrome-plated rods that hold the rear, middle, and forward parts inline produced a shower of tiny, sharp flakes of metal.I emailed the manufacturer about the problem and they IMMEDIATELY sent out replacement parts at no cost to me.I am very pleased with the design and ruggedness of the vise and, in fact, I'm considering buying the pistol vise as well! It's a great piece of hardware, and the folks at Hyskore have treated me right.

Directions were very un-clear. Came with a few extra foam pads which I had no idea what they were for. The plastic tray that holds shooting, cleaning supplies etc. is of the lowest possible quality. You need to take 1/3 of the rest apart to actually use it for shooting which requires the removal of 2 snap rings; which means you need to carry a special wrench with you. Very unhappy in general with the whole thing.

Had received as a gift and found that the cleaning trays to be of very poor quality and the pads that come on elevation adjustment knobs came off as well as the sponge pads that is suppose to keep from marring the finish on your firearm.

When I got this, it was not all in one piece. It was like knobs had been put in their places but not tightened. Pads were on the bottom of the box and it hadn't been used yet. It was like putting together a half assembled kit or putting together a puzzle someone else had started and not finished. For the same money you can get a Caldwell rest of equal design and a better rest as well, and I did!

I've had mine for over a year. It is good for cleaning, not so good for shooting. The pads are poorly made, also. Not good for shooting at all.

Works well as a cleaning ...

Works well as a cleaning cradle but the pads do come off and you'll have to reattach them or replace them. The rest is not suitable for shooting from the bench. Look how wide the back part is where the buttstock would attach. You can't comfortably shoot this thing, hence my two star rating.

This item is a piece of junk. The plastic trays are extremely thin plastic. Overall, poorly constructed. Emailed Hyskore about broken adjustment knob. They have never bothered to contact me. Do not waste your money.

When received one of the legs nut had a busted weld. It was repaired by owner with no deficiency to the rest/vise. It was practical for a majority of the rifles we used it on. The barrel rest would not adjust high enough for one of the rifles.

This product is very cheaply made. The pads break as previously noted. It wobbles, which prevents it from working well as a sight-in tool. Save your money and buy a Caldwell instead - that's what I finally had to do.
