The RCBS Trim Mate Case Prep Center helps to make the tedious tasks of chamfering, deburring, primer pocket cleaning, military crimp removal and flash hole deburring quick and effortless. The five gear driven heads turn each tool so all the reloader has to do is hold the brass at the appropriate location until they are satisfied with the results. The station includes two stationary positions for case neck brushes or other accessories and a cupped area for holding dry case neck lube.

I was not sure about this unit but it had good reviews and like the other posts I wished I had gotten it sooner. A little motor tied to a gear box driving large work gears give it plenty of power. Only problem was when I went to move to another place on the bench the green top came of allowing the gears to fall out of place[this is why I know what the inside looks like].Called RCBS they said send it in be more than willing to take care of the defective top. I told them I would be willing to do the labor saving time and money if would send a new top.They said ok I have received the top this all done over phone totally on my say of a defect.This is why I gave top rating product is strong service could not have been better when needed.I personally can't understand why some gave low rating when they agreed the unit had good power and saved them time, but were not lavished with all the pretties

What a great tool and ...

What a great tool and wonderful invention this could be!! It's convenient, fast and does a good job except the primer pocket brushes RCBS provides are defective, even their replacement ones. The tips aren't cut even and do a lousy job. On the positive side, even though the machine is a little noisy, I can sit with it in my lap while watching TV (I have the trim mate sitting in a rectangle baking pan to catch any debris), and easily process hundreds of cases without hardly thinking about it. I have a plastic container of cases needing treatment on one side of me and toss them in another container on the other side when they're done. It could be the best tool ever made to easily handle a very inconvenient, boring task, and one I dread doing, if the primer brushes were any good.

RCBS should be ashamed!

RCBS really should be slapped on this tool. Mine came out of the box with the proverbial screws rolling around in the bottom. That is the first clue to poor quality. There are reviews on here from several years ago that experienced this same phenomenon and RCBS hasn't fixed it yet. Never heard of a lock washer or loctite? The motor is borderline junk for a tool in this price range. It reminds me of a motor used to power kids' toys. Just howls and growls - probably should wear hearing protection while in use. And I am really looking forward to the rapid dulling of the chamfering bits that many allude to. I own nothing but RCBS but this one belongs in the toilet!

Excellent Product

This is a great product. I was stimulated to write this review when I saw some of the poor reviews. I have used this product for three years now and never had any trouble, apart from occasional steel bristles on the primer cleaning brush getting bent down because I inserted it crooked (doesn't really affect its function). I have used this on a couple of thousand cases now. It takes about 3 seconds to clean the flash holes to a bright shine.

I am not sure why some folks have had such bad experiences. I use a number of RCBS products and have always found them to be well made. The one problem I had was with the Trim-Pro. After a couple of thousand cases, I noticed that I the the cutter shaft had become somewhat scored (likely from grit getting under the cutter guide. It still worked with no problems, but I emailed RCBS and asked what replacement parts would cost. In a few hours, I received a response that they were sending me replacement parts under the warranty. I could not believe it, but that's what happened. I did not even describe what had happened. I just asked for costs. You can't get a better warranty or service than that! THANKS RCBS!

My advice to anyone who has problems....Call or email RCBS and they will make it right.

I gave this unit one star because that is as low as I could go. I read all the reviews, and use a LOT of RCBS stuff, so I gave it a try. The unit I got rattled in the gears, and the chamfering tools quit cutting after a few shells. Do yourself a favor and get the Lyman prep center. That's what I did.

The stations on my RCBS ...

The stations on my RCBS trimmate rotate counterclockwise.I found that if I "toggle" my 223 caliber brass counter-clockwise 360 degrees several times in the outside chamfering station, I get better and faster results withmuch less effort.Give it a try, and support our NRA! The main reason I wanted this was for primer pocket cleaning. I must be doing something wrong b/c it is useless in this capacity. The metal brushes scratch the pocket a little but do nothing to clean them out....I'm better off with a small flathead screwdriver....very disappointing.

With all the good reviews vs. the bad reviews on this product, I decided to buy it. I received it about an hour ago. First thing I noticed were the 3 screws in the bottom of the box. I then felt "movement" inside the case. The screws that hold the drive inside the case were the ones lying in the bottom of the box.I tried to put the screws in, but the balancing act and the swinging drive made that very difficult. Then I decided to try the unit to see if it worked. Plugged it in, turned on the switch, nothing. The machine was dead on arrival. It's already boxed up to be sent back to Midway. There is no "obvious" way to get the top off to check for a loose wire or to hold the drive in place while the base screws are being attached. I didn't want to mess up the plastic cover trying to get it off.I will ask Midway if they can check a new unit to see if it works and is screwed down. If they can't, I can do without one of these.James McGeeHot Springs, AR

I bolted this to the ...

I bolted this to the reloading bench you can build from free plans on the internet. I reload for multiple handgun calibers, and this tool is incredible. It's not only 20 times faster that hand Chamfering and Deburring, but it will extend the life of my dies because I get such quality and consistency in my cases. I will never be without this tool!
