Beware, this forearm tip ...

Beware, this forearm tip is a hollow molding and unless you are VERY GOOD at stock shaping, it is a pain to fit. I f it had been solid, it could have been attached with a couple of dowels...

As one reviewer pointed out: both this model and the straight forend caps are hollow plastic. I have used three of these to 'sporterize' several military type stocks and all of them have turned out OK. You are going to have to 2-part epoxy (Acraglas) these things on, so in the end it is almost BETTER that they are hollow. I actually drill small indents on the inside to increase the adhesion. I still use a wood dowel to secure with the stock and epoxy. This is not an operation to be done on a finished riflestock and you have to shape the tip (Dremel and sandpaper).Feel free to look around for a more economical solution. In the end you can get a $20 piece of solid rosewood but guess what... you still have to shape it! Miles Gilbert does a good job of filling the lower-end niche market of us evil 'sporterizers'.
