What a piece of junk! The pin punch is completely misaligned for the M1A bolt. What a waste of money. I am so disgusted by this that I have not even had the energy to send it back and demand my money back

As received the 6-32 Allen screw that contacts the ejector to depress it was out of position low and left looking at it from the thumb screw end. I attempted to file enough relief to clear the lip of the bolt but ended up drilling and tapping a hole about 1 diameter right and half a diameter up. It works perfectly now. I put a penny between the end of the bolt and the thumbscrew to act as a buffer.

Works fine, and makes a ...

Works fine, and makes a difficult 3-handed job a 2-handed job. It does take a little fiddling to get it set up, but it does the job. The rear pushing screw should be filed smooth on the end before use though; or else the tail of the firing pin will forcibly shave metal off it until it's sufficiently smooth.

Use is obvious - lay the M1 bolt in a channel and tighten the large thumbscrew. The adjustable Allen head cap screw at the other end compresses the ejector. Push the spring-loaded button on the bottom, and out pops the extractor. However, there was a problem - as received, the tool was unusable. The M1 Garand bolt bottom is cylindrical, and tapered - it's wider at the front, near the bolt face. The last 1/2" of the channel in the tool was about 0.010" too narrow to accommodate the bolt. Relieving the end of the channel took about 10 minutes and the tool works well now, but someone goofed when either designing or fabricating it.
