I purchased another base to use on a 12" 35 Remington Pro Hunter T/C BBL. The base rocked fore and aft by about 5-7 thousands. As usual Leopold had stamped the model number in the curved area that mates against the bbl. As before, I used a 1/2" diameter round file to remove the raised metal from the stamping and the base settled in nice. I had to shorten all 4 screws .035" for this set up as well. I would rather have screws that are too long than too short. All other aspects of this base are great!

I have these bases, along with DD rings on three of my Contender barrels. They make for a clean looking, and brutally strong mounting system. One note to the future users:Order the Extra high rings for use on the Contender, no matter what scope you use. You'll need the extra clearance under the scope occular peice, to cock the hammer!

I purchased this mount in Feb 2010 for my 357 Max. Contender. Fit and finish was great. I had no problems with the number stamped onthe underside of the mount. It didn't interfere with attaching the mount. I have used Leupold dual dovetail mounts for years and highly recommend them.

I purchased two of these bases to use on a pair of 10" bull T/C BBLs. When I set the bases on the bbls to check fit and screw length they rocked for and aft by about 8-9 thousands. Turning the base over I noticed that Leopold had stamped the model number in the curved area that seats against the bbl. The stamping operation rased a bump of metal around the letters. I used a 1/2" diamiter round file to remove the raised metal from the stamping and the base settled in nice.All other aspects of this base are great!
