This die sizes only the neck to preserve the perfect fit of fire forming. A collet squeezes the case neck against a precision mandrel for a perfect bullet fit with minimum run-out. No case lube is needed. Cases last about 10 times longer. Only reload cases that have been fired in you firearm. Not recommended for autoloaders, slide or lever action guns.

I am immensely impressed ...

I am immensely impressed with this die! I was having concentricity issues using another brands full length sizing die set up to only size the necks. I figured I would have to take the leap to a bushing die and outside neck turning. After some research I found many reports of lee collet dies producing as good or better concentricity than bushing dies so I decided to give it a try. Not only does it produce exceptionally straight ammo, but it is the fastest and easiest die because there is no lubrication involved. There are a few tricks to making it work best though. You will want to take it apart and polish up the inside of the die for smooth operation. Set it up in the press so that when the die bottoms out with a case in it, your press it just before caming over for maximum feel and leverage. For the most consistent neck size run the case up in the die and size it, then lower it down and turn the case an 1/8th of a turn and hit it again. You may also have to polish down the mandrel a bit to get proper tension. This will be the only neck sizing die I will ever buy for any cartridge.

The collet die produced ...

The collet die produced the smallest group ever from my rifle. The previous best was 0.40" The best is now 0.21"at 100 yards. A friend suggested making a chamber length gauge. Resize a case neck enough to allow the bullet to barely slide with hand pressure. Insert the over length combo and close the bolt. Remove and measure the oal. Do this several times. Set your seating die 0.015"shorter than the trial case & bullet combo. This is way more accurate than lamp black and gives you a free chamber length gauge for the price of the neck sizing die.

I bought this die because ...

I bought this die because I wanted a neck sizer for a 25 06 that was only getting three full length sizing per case. This die took about two minutes to adjust properly. Since there is no case lubing, it cuts out the time consuming and messy part of reloading. There is no stretching of the shoulder pulling over a neck expander since this die has a mandrel. Neck sizing is fast and fun with this die. The reloader handle pops up about four inches after resizing and the case is takin out with no effort. This really speeds things up. I am going to buy one for my three other big game rifles.

I was looking for a way ...

I was looking for a way to extend the case life of my 25-06 brass. I settled on the Lee, it was a fast set up (make sure to read and follow instructions) as they are made for Lee presses they do however explain how to set up for cam over presses like mine. I have also noticed an improvement in accuracy. The only thing I did was to put on a lock ring on the die (personal preference) if you are looking for a great neck sizer look no further. Bottom line buy it.
