The PACT Digital Precision Powder Dispenser provides the exact charge weight you've requested in 1/2 of the time of the original model. Simply enter the charge weight on the keyboard and push the "dispense" button. The dispenser will deposit the powder directly into the powder pan resting on the scale. The scale tells the dispenser the actual charge weight using an infra-red data port which means the charges are as accurate as if they'd been hand weighed every time. Not for use with Blackpowder. The Digital Precision Powder Scale quickly and accurately weighs up to 1500 grains or 100 grams and is accurate to 1/10 of a grain. Includes 2 check weights and AC adapter.

Notes: Must be placed close alongside the powder scale with infrared data port. Type in the desired powder charge and press Dispense (the Keypad will input a maximum of 150 grains). Your Dispenser will take it from there, depositing your powder directly into the powder pan resting on the Scale. After reading Mr. DeLaurenti's review I was a bit concerned about how the unit performed but with Midway's return policy I decided to try one anyway. I love it!It consistently meters charges from 2.2 gr of Win 231 to 80.0 gr of H4831. I have weighed the dispensed charges on my RCBS/Ohaus beam balance and they have agreed within 0.025 grain up to 100 grains.The unit essentially consists of two motorized tricklers, so it is slow. Up to 25 grains it keeps up with the rest of my processing but above that and you will be waiting around for it. I built a special drop tube for my volumetric dispenser to dump in the scale pan. I set it to throw about 3 grains short of the target amount and let the PACT take it from there. Beats the heck out of trickling by hand.My only serious concern is that the scale runs on 12 VAC and the dispenser on 9 VDC. The connectors are the same. If the power supplies get switched, the electronics will get fried. PACT warns about this in the manual but I think that it was really short-sighted on their part to not use unique connectors.

Bought this product about ...

Bought this product about a year and a half ago and have had almost nothing but trouble with it. The scale is VERY sensitive to vibration and is unusable at the reloading bench. About half the time it throws a charge one or two tenths over on the scale, not particularly fast, scale often takes a while to zero after a load is thrown, and often takes a l-o-n-g time to calibrate. I was told by the folks at PACT that I may have dirty power. I guess I am supposed to talk the power company into installing a dedicated filtered power line for me! One of the problems is that you do not discover all this until after you purchase the product. By that time they have your money. Pact said they would inspect the units but I would have to pay shipping both ways though they would likely not find a problem. I am not sure what to do with the product at the moment but I do now I will not buy another one. I saved up for the better part of a year for this turkey and it looks like I will be eating it!

I bought the RCBS combo about 13 years ago. The RCBS is and was made by PACT. With time the scale started goofing up and losing it's mind. My friend had the same tbl with his PACT and had received a new power adapter for free from them that fixed the problem. RCBS told me they no longer had access to parts for older ones and could not help me. I had to buy one from PACT but in my case it did not fix the tbl. I have been VERY happy with my unit and will now replace it with a new PACT, ( the people who make them).

I have a PACT powder dispenser and Digital Scale that was given to me by my Grandson. The Operators booklet that came with it is dated 1996 and judging from the looks of the equipment it definitely shows it's age...not abused, just well used. However the equipment works extremely well and the powder charges are 98% of the time dead on and 2% of the time +/- 0.1 grain of the setting. This could be due to the extruded Varget pellets or more probably not getting a stable tare before punching the dispense button. I have checked the dispensed power with my RCBS balance beam and the accuracy of the weighed charges are dead on +/- 0.0. Mine is set up on my reloading table that I made myself...3x3 legs and 2x4's milled to 3 1/2" and glued in place on edge making the table top 3 1/2" thick. Being 5 feet x 30 inches , it takes three men and a small boy to move it...doesn't shake when bumped. My RCBS manual press doesn't seem to bother it in any case. It would not hurt to weigh and load all your brass before seating the pills....no problems for sure then. I reload in my bedroom so temperature is pretty constant with central heat and air. Extremely satisfied with the instruments.

I have owned the Pact Digital Powder Dispenser for 13 or 14 years now. My unit is the earlier, slower version. I have never had the unit fail to work properly. While I have had to call PACT only a few times for advice, I have always found them helpful, if not particularly friendly. The unit has a learning curve and many of the complaints I read are true, but are merely the flip side of a coin. Do you want a sensitive scale? If the answer is yes, then you have to expect that wind and vibration will affect it. I don't think it is unreasonable to have to supply the unit with clean power. When I initially bought mine I did experience some problems with precision. Once I learned to warm it up and bought a rather inexpensive ferroresonant line conditioner, the problems disappeared. I later found that an air compressor on the same circuit was the source of the power problem. These are issues that any very fine equipment might have. The unit is a bit slow, but not excessively. It is at its best with ball or flake powder but does a creditable job with extruded powder too (which I use most often). Often, I will set it for .2 grains low and trickle the last bit. All-in-all, this is a very workable system, it's made in the USA, and it has a lifetime warranty. Even if the Warranty turnaround time isn't too fast, it is still far better than all the Chinese made units on the market. They all come with a 1 year warranty.

Slow, inaccurate, do not buy! PACT customer service is very bad. I tested this vs. RCBS ChargeMaster, RCBS beat it by a mile. PACT takes twice as long and is constantly .1 to .2 grain high or low., plus the RCBS does not require you to wait 2-3 min to calibrate when you use a new powder. Avoid this product and company!

Bought this thinking that ...

Bought this thinking that buying USA with a lifetime warranty would help. Not so much. Had the problem with the scale drifting or not settling on 0 as stated above. Called for support, and the guy that answered was professional, but not very helpful. He said the problem was with electrical interference or service in my house. Well, bought a volt meter and a ferrite bead to make it better. The volt meter shows NO problems with current in the house, and the ferrite bead (the metal thing on the power cord) makes it better, but not great. Scale requires frequent rebooting and recalibrating to work well. I'm not impressed with "American" service.Seems like all other companies products are made in China, but at least they back their products up.

I purchase this scale some years back and rarely used it. Recently, I attempted it to use it, but noticed that it wasn't dispensing in the trickle mode. I sent it to the factory for repair. When I received it, the took off the serial number sticker, and the infrared com port was missing. Needless to say it didn't work. I sent the dispenser back with a note telling them to keep it as I will be buying a Hornady.

I had my scale for 10 years. It was made under the RCBS brand name. I had to send the scale and dispenser back to pact. It took about 4 weeks to fix (the red light on scale was not reading the dispenser) the service Dept must not have any one working there full time. When I called there was no answer at times. There is no way to E mail. As for the combo it is slow and wind and vibration due cause some problems. The scale is accurate. I find using rod type powders to be better for this scale then ball type powders. Its better to charge all your cases first then seat bullet if the machine is on your bench along with your press

I have used the PACT Digital Precision Powder Scale for over 10 years. In the last month I added the PACT High Speed Digital Precision Powder Dispenser to my reloading bench. My initial impression is that the dispenser and digital scale combination works as described delivering charges within +/- 0.1 grains in 10 to 20 seconds for typical rifle cartridge charges. Both the scale and the powder dispenser have built in computers with some powerful intelligence built in. When the scale is changed from weighing mode to trickle mode to work with the dispenser its reading averaging seems to change so that the scale can report weight changes to the dispenser quickly for control purposes. This makes the scale look like it is more sensitive to vibration in the trickle mode when it is just a necessary change in the computer control of the scale. My reloading bench is a converted office desk and used just as a scale I wasn't aware of any vibration impacting the scale's performance. When I added the powder dispenser the vibration caused by operating the reloading press was obviously influencing the scale and dispenser operation. A trip to a local custom granite counter top shop for a 20 lb. piece of scrap counter top which I put on rubber pads literally made the scale and dispenser "rock solid" when they were placed on the granite surface. I am fairly sure I would probably have had the same issue with any of the electronic scale dispenser packages on my reloading bench and the PACT combo is working fine and I can dispense a charge while seating the bullet and have the next charge ready and waiting for me.

I originally had a big problem with the scale after it warmed up and settled down. The zero point would drift back and forth for no apparent reason. Each time it would take a while to re-zero. This also made it very difficult to calibrate the scale as it would take a long time to settle between calibration weight changes. Sometimes I would have to set up the old balance scale and use it instead. I called the factory and they suggested that it may be some kind of electrical interference and that I try it in a different part of the house to see if that made any difference. That tipped me off to the problem. I built a power line choke from an old ferrite coil form that I had in my junk box and that fixed the problem. With this arrangement the scale is solid as a rock. I also found that if I wound about 5 to 10 turns around a 1/2 inch bolt or a short piece of 1/2 or 3/4 conduit that would provide much the same results. Wrap the power cord so that the coil is within about 6 to 10 inches from the end of the cord that plugs into the scale. Now I can give the scale the highest rating.This worked for me. I hope it helps.
