This mount installed ...

This mount installed easily on a Glock 17 gen 3. The dovetail piece went in easily with no modifications. I was not sure which gaskets and plates to use between all of the pieces that came with the sight and the mount, but it works just fine.

Two of these units, one ...

Two of these units, one mounted on an older Glock 19 and one on a new Glock 17, required substantial diamond stoning of their dovetail fittings in order to fit them into the factory dovetail slots. That, of course, meant that they then had to be reblued. I wasn't willing to modify the dovetail slots because there is always a chance that one may wish to reinstall the factory sights, or some other sight intended for factory spec slots. That quickly proved to have been a good decision, as one Fastfire sight failed after 186 rounds of 124 grain 9mm factory loads.

This mount is designed to ...

This mount is designed to fit the radius on the slide, and its held in by the dovetail. Unfortunately, not all Glocks are the same. This mount is not for large frame Glocks (21, etc.) It does fit small glocks (17,19 etc,) perfectly.I had to modify it heavily to fit on my Glock 21 because the slide is wider than that of a Glock 17. Burris is quite aware of the issue.

Full size Glock owners a ...

Full size Glock owners a bit of caution here. The mount has grooves on the bottom outside edges that I assume are there to fit the slide contours on a 9mm or 40cal size gun. It rides up high on the full width slide causing the included tapered screws to be too short. First time around I unknowingly stripped the threads w/minimal pressure. Second time got it on and sight flew off smacking me in the head after 6 shots. Oh ya, I had to file the dovetail to fit both times. Guy from Burris said he was surprised I was having trouble and didn't have longer screws to send??? I've been working with firearms for 25 years so I was not impressed. Bottom line If you have a model 20, 21 you have some work ahead of you, don't be fooled by Glock "all" model designation.
