Great value and they do what they're suppose to do. Sure, you can pay more for slightly nicer base pads, but why? They're durable and assist in the positive seating of the magazine. I installed 2 of them to the factory Springfield Armory magazines for my Mil-Spec. Good product - plain and simple.

The quality of the screws included with these base pads is very bad. They strip very easily. One of the pads cracked after installation and had to be removed. Suppose to be made of polymer, cheap plastic is more accurate. I had to use a Lock-tite epoxy glue to secure. I will NOT purchase any more.

Easy to install and plenty durable. They make the cheap gov't-style mags work well for zoomy-delta-farce training with my magwell gun.

Great value for the price. The screws matched up exactly on SA factory mags. The slight flare-out from the top of the pad matches up very nicely with the Ed Brown Maxi-Well on my SA Loaded.

The screws will not self tap into the base plate of my Kimber. Screws are now stripped. I will need to find better screws now.

Took Jim Smith's good advise to use the screws by themselves first to tap the holes.Only snag was tapping two mags that were stainless steel. Tore the heads off of two screws while making the thread cuts. Luckily I ordered more pads than I needed, so I had extra screws to work with. Finished up with a little Loctite on the threads.The fit is perfect, pads are light weight, very durable, and easy to grab for a fast reload.

I have installed over 100 ...

I have installed over 100 of these on customers magazines both pre-drilled and my having to drill the pilot hole. I always tap with a two flute 4x40TPI gun tap first using a very small amount of cutting oil. Then I degrease before putting the pad on with a very small amount of thread locker on the screw. DO NOT get the thread locker on the base pad, it will cause a reaction with the plastic and that is what causes cracked base pads. I put the tap in a drill press after making sure that the magazine base is "square with the world and centered" then turn the chuck by hand making sure that the drill press is unplugged first.

The product is good in quality for its price. Just to clarify that the screws do "self-tap" into Kimber stainless magazines. Installed on three with zero slippage.

These seem to be made by the same company as the Chip McCormick base pads except Ed Brown gives a much better volume price. They are good quality and durable. TIP: The supplied self tap screws will not work in stainless mags, you will have to tap and LocTite them for the screws to work.

Self-tapping screws ...

Self-tapping screws turned out to be softer than the material in my Kimber magazines. Therefore, they did not "self tap". Instead I used a 4-40 tap on the existing holes in the magazine bases and installed them. They work well, do the job and are inexpensive. So they did not self tap.

Perfect fit on my SA 1911 9mm mags. As stated earlier, thread the screws in, back them out, then install the pads. Just the right size to seat well with my mag well, while not hanging out too far. Comes in a pack of 6, so now I just need 2 more mags!
